BREAKING: Majority Leader Mitch McConnell JUST informed his Republican colleagues that they don't have the votes to pass Trumpcare right now, and there will be NO vote on health care cuts before the July 4 recess.
This is a gigantic victory for the resistance -- and clear proof that the pressure we've been putting on GOP senators is working. Thanks to your emails, tweets and phone calls, the GOP is scrambling for votes without a clear path forward for this awful bill.
But our work to stop Trumpcare isn't finished yet.
McConnell has made it clear that he will be looking for ways to modify this legislation after the recess to get the votes he needs. And Republicans in the Senate are going to face tremendous pressure from corporate special interests and wealthy donors to swallow their misgivings and pass this de facto tax cut for the rich ASAP.
If we're going to kill this bill for good and save the health care of millions of people, we can't stop now. We need to build on this momentum and take to the streets and the phones this recess to make it clear to Republicans that they have no choice but to let Trumpcare die.
