{NAME} -- It's been 24 hours since Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey and kicked off an unprecedented national crisis. In the aftermath of Comey's firing, Democracy for America was the first and largest organization to call for Congress to investigate and impeach Trump. Members of Congress are starting to talk openly about impeachment: - Mark Pocan of Wisconsin said "We should maybe have an impeachment clock -- and if we did, I think yesterday moved us about an hour closer to having that need." - Ruben Gallego of Arizona added "we are certainly moving down that path." - Maxine Waters of California took to Twitter to say that Donald Trump "should follow his FBI Director out the door." - Al Green of Texas said that the firing is an "impeachable offense" if it can be connected to the Russia investigation -- which is looking more and more likely as the details come out. This is a good start. But there's a long way to go to get 218 votes in the House to file Articles of Impeachment against Trump. We can get there -- if we mobilize America to pressure members of Congress to do it. That's where you come in. Democracy for America is planning to organize our members over the summer months to build the movement to investigate and impeach Donald Trump. We'll show up at Congressional offices, town halls, and Capitol Hill itself to insist that Trump be investigated and impeached. Are you in? [Chip in $3 or more to help DFA build a grassroots, nationwide movement to demand Congress investigate and impeach Donald Trump.]( It's clear Donald Trump will stop at nothing to impose his hateful, greedy agenda on this country. When Washington State and Hawaii fought his Muslim ban in the courts, Trump talked about breaking up the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that blocked the ban. With the FBI investigating Trump and his campaign's ties to Russia, Trump decided to take the unprecedented step of firing the FBI director in a blatant attempt to obstruct justice. Trump has to be stopped -- and impeachment is the best way to do it. Impeachment isn't going to be easy in a Republican Congress -- or if Democrats take control of Congress in 2018. But that's why we have to organize. We must make it crystal clear to Republicans that the public demands they investigate and impeach Trump -- and if they refuse, they'll be defeated at the next election. That's what happened to Republicans when they stood by Richard Nixon during Watergate. We've already shown that the resistance is a powerful movement, in communities all across the country. Now it's time to build on that momentum and rally the country to demand Congress investigate and impeach Trump. We need every member of Congress to hear it loud and clear everywhere they go. [Will you help?
