The impact of West Virginia v. EPA cannot be understated

{NAME}, Over the last few weeks, the Supreme Court has issued terrible rulings on reproductive rights and gun regulations that rightfully grabbed the attention of millions of people across the country. But there was also another ruling, West Virginia v. EPA, that deserves just as much indignation from each and every one of us. In a huge victory for Big Oil and the fossil fuel industry, the Supreme Court has placed severe limits on the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate carbon emissions. The 6-3 decision in West Virginia v. EPA essentially creates a situation where unless Congress precisely states the regulatory power a federal agency has to address any issue, the Court may strike it down.
