{NAME}, I think it's safe to say that these last few weeks has been difficult for us all. As a woman

{NAME}, I think it's safe to say that these last few weeks has been difficult for us all. As a woman, bonus mom to three amazing young women, and a godmother, mentor, and advocate for many women and girls, I have certainly cycled through moments of anger, frustration, and despair. But I won’t stop fighting and I hope you won’t either. Six unelected justices bought and paid for by an extremist political minority just stripped away the rights of millions of women to privacy, choice, and bodily autonomy and they used the flimsiest of excuses to do so. Republicans have been preparing for this moment for years ― well so have we. Progressive voters aren't going to stand by and accept anything less than a full-throated defense of Roe. For 18 years, DFA has been fighting and advocating for women's rights by working to elect candidates up and down the ballot in not only blue states but EVERY state through our 50-State Strategy. And not only Democrats, we elect progressives, who, unlike the Democratic establishment, do not run away from tough fights. [So please rush a donation to DFA right now so we can fight like hell to elect candidates on the frontlines who will work tirelessly to protect and defend a women’s right to choose.]( [Contribute]( We know that voting is not the only answer but it is one of the critical ways we can work to save our democracy in November. Each of our programs at DFA protects women’s rights at a different level and are instrumental in protecting the right to abortion, reproductive healthcare, privacy, and bodily autonomy. We know the fights are at the local and state level with mayors, prosecutors, DAs, AGs, state legislators, and governors standing up to protect women at all costs. These programs need to be expanded now so that more Americans can have elected officials who represent their beliefs and are not afraid to stand up and speak truth to power. I briefly outlined some details of these programs below and our team will go more in-depth about the specifics of our work this year over the next few days. [If you are able to support this work, we need you now more than ever. Please consider making a donation of [$20,]( even $100 today]( we can work to protect those elected leaders and candidates who need it the most.]( - Purple to Blue: Our work to flip legislative chambers and win statewide races in conservative states where Democrats rarely invest energy or resources is the first, and best, line of defense to fight for a woman’s right to choose. Gaining even one chamber of the legislature can serve as a check on Republican power in these states. Winning statewide elections, especially gubernatorial races are also essential. Electing candidates like Beto O’Rourke and Stacey Abrams will be a critical check on Republican legislatures who attempt to pass these dangerous, arcane laws. - Establish Justice: Republicans continue to work day and night to stack the courts with conservative judges because they know that our courts have power over so many issues. Our Establish Justice Initiative combats this by working to fill the courts with progressive thinkers who will uphold a woman’s right to choose. Attorneys general, district attorneys, and prosecutors, even sheriffs, will have enormous power over how the laws passed in these states are enforced. Electing strong, bold pro-choice progressives will be essential to protecting women’s right to privacy and autonomy. - Save the Senate: With a more progressive Senate, we can overcome Kyrsten Sinema’s and Joe Manchin’s refusal to abolish the filibuster and codify Roe v. Wade into law. DFA’s three U.S. Senate candidates Cheri Beasley - NC, Mandela Barnes, and Charles Booker - KY will deliver a Senate that fights for our rights, instead of turning the Senate into a rubber stamp for the Republican's right-wing agenda. Fundamental rights are on the line. Women and girls across the country are depending on us. What we do between now and November will make a huge difference.
