{NAME} -- Believe it or not, Paul Ryan and hardcore conservatives in the House just found a way to to make Trumpcare even WORSE. The House Freedom Caucus threatened to withhold its support from Donald Trump's attack on health care because -- unbelievably -- they wanted it to make Medicaid even harder for poor and working people to access. Speaker Paul Ryan quickly caved to their demands. Last night, Ryan introduced a modified version of Trumpcare that allows states to impose work requirements on Medicaid -- and lets them turn the program into a block grant, which would slash federal support and lead to restricted access in GOP-controlled states. The House is scheduled to vote on this new version of Trumpcare this Thursday, and now that he has the far right-wing on board, Speaker Paul Ryan says he "feels very good" about its chances of passing. We only have 48 hours to make it clear to House members that voting for Trumpcare is NOT an option if they want to be re-elected in 2018. Can you call Representative Carolyn B. Maloney now and tell her to vote NO on Trumpcare this Thursday? [Yes! I will call Rep. Maloney today.]( [No, I can't call now, but I will pitch in $3 or more to support Democracy for America's work to stop Trumpcare and expand health care access to all Americans.]( Everything we know about Trumpcare is horrible and cruel: It would slash Medicaid access, spike rates for seniors and make it harder for people with pre-existing conditions to maintain coverage -- all while giving the wealthy few an obscenely large tax cut. This bill is extremely unpopular with the general public: A recent Fox News poll found that only 34% of voters support Trumpcare, and Donald Trump's approval rating sunk to an all-time low after its introduction. But Paul Ryan is determined to ram it through the House this week regardless. We need to send a clear message to the House right now that we will accept this attack on our health care. Can you call Representative Carolyn B. Maloney now and tell her to vote NO on Trumpcare? [Yes! I'll call Rep. Maloney immediately.]( [No, I don't have time to call, but I'll chip in $3 to support Democracy for America's campaign to defeat Trumpcare.]( Thanks for helping kill this horrible GOP attack on our health care. - Karli Karli Wallace Thompson, Campaign Manager Democracy for America [DONATE]( Paid for by Democracy for America, and not authorized by any candidate.
