The response we've gotten to the launch of Resistance Recess has been amazing! It's clear that people are fired up and ready to fight back against Trump all across the country.
So far, progressives have the clear upper hand at town halls this recess -- but a major GOP astroturf organization is trying to change that.
In response to widespread panic from GOP elected officials, FreedomWorks -- a Koch-funded front group for the "Tea Party" and business interests -- has announced a major mobilization effort designed to counteract our grassroots energy at town halls. FreedomWorks president and CEO Adam promised that "there will be more grassroots hand-to-hand combat" than ever during this recess.
The fact that the GOP is calling in third party groups to rescue them is proof that our organizing is working. But we can't become complacent in the face of these Tea Party threats.
DFA is working with MoveOn and other progressive allies to organize local Resistance Recess events -- will you sign up to attend one near you right now?
