Raise the Minimum Wage by any means necessary

{NAME}, You’ve probably heard by now that the Senate Parliamentarian has ruled that raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour cannot be included in President Biden’s 1.9 trillion-dollar COVID Relief bill based on a very limited reading of Senate rules governing the process of budget reconciliation. The idea that one unelected Senate staff person has the final word in deciding what 100 Senators can do based on their limited interpretation of Senate rules -- not laws, rules -- is ridiculous. The lives of 30 million Americans currently working for poverty wages are at stake. Here’s the thing: The Senate can overrule the Parliamentarian. But to get it done, it will take leadership. This is Vice President Harris’ moment to lead. If the Vice President, who is the constitutional President of the Senate and the tie breaking vote on any Senate legislation, decides the Parliamentarian should be overruled, Democrats in the Senate must stand with her.
