{NAME} -- I don’t know about you, but I’ve been angry ever since I watched the gut-wrenching testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and the alarming, highly partisan testimony of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh last week. Not only did Kavanaugh deny the disturbing and credible allegations made by Dr. Ford and other women, but he responded to these accusations with far-right conspiracy theories, unbridled rage, and snarky remarks toward Democratic senators. He may have even perjured himself, providing misleading and possibly untrue answers in his sworn statements. These are not the actions of someone we want on the highest court in the land, and if he’s found to have lied or broken the law, it’s not enough to simply call for the withdrawal of his Supreme Court nomination. That’s why I’m joining my colleagues in the Congressional Progressive Caucus to make a vow to you today: If Democrats take back the House this November, we are committed to obtaining Kavanaugh’s complete records and moving to impeach him if we find wrong-doing. We need to get as many Democratic House members on board with this pledge as possible. That's why I'm asking for help from Democracy for America members like you. [Will you join DFA members across the country and help put pressure on other House members by signing your name in support of the CPC's efforts to hold Kavanaugh accountable?]( From the very beginning, Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court has been shrouded in secrecy and a rushed process to get him on the bench as quickly as possible, with no regard for transparency or truth. Since then, Kavanaugh has made it clear that for countless reasons -- his sexual assault allegations, his sealed records, his extreme partisan viewpoints, and his potential lies to the Senate and the American people -- he may not belong in his current position on the second-highest court of the land, let alone the Supreme Court. If Democrats can take back the House this November, then we can do what it takes to get to the bottom of this and protect the credibility and reputation of the country’s highest judicial body. [Put your anger over this immoral nomination into action. Add your name as a public co-sponsor in support of our letter and make it clear that progressives in Congress are committed to finding out the truth about Kavanaugh.]( Thanks for keeping up the fight, - Rep. Pramila Jayapal --------------------------------------------------------------- We stand with Pramila: House Democrats should commit to investigating Kavanaugh. But we can only make that investigation a reality if we win big next month. DFA members are working around the clock to flip the House and elect transformative progressives.
