{NAME} -- have you been watching the Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearings? The secrecy and shadiness around this confirmation process is absolutely unprecedented. We need to do everything we can stop it NOW. I'm going to ask you to do three super-quick things to help block this nomination. But first, let me explain why this moment matters: Just hours before the hearings began, a lawyer for former President George W. Bush dumped more than 40,000 new documents on Kavanaugh -- knowing that no one would have time to review them before the hearings began today. And stunningly, Trump is using executive privilege to keep more than 100,000 additional documents completely out of the public eye. That's never happened before. This morning, Senate Democrats fought back. They slowed down the proceedings and demanded that the hearings be postponed until they could review Kavanaugh's whole record. But Republicans on the committee refused to hold a vote. It's going to take immense public pressure -- on Republicans and Democrats alike -- to block this nomination. That's why we really need you in this fight. Here are three easy and important things you can do right now to stop Kavanaugh: 1) Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee stood up for the people this morning and tried to stop these hearings from moving forward. We need to have their backs. [Check out this article with videos featuring Kamala Harris and Dick Durbin doing the right thing -- and make sure your friends see it, too.]( 2) Add your name to our petition backing up the demand that Senate Democrats made this morning: [The Kavanaugh hearings must not move forward until all related documents are made public and until all committee members have time to accurately assess them.]( 3) So far, Democrats are holding the line. But we still don't have firm commitments from all Democratic Senators that they will oppose Kavanaugh's nomination. We need to tell Chuck Schumer to whip the vote. [Call Sen. Schumer's Senate office in Washington, DC and tell him to get every single Democrat on board.]( Thanks for stepping up and taking these simple but important actions today. Kavanaugh is extremely unpopular, and public outrage has been enough to stop Supreme Court nominations in the past. But it's going to take all of us working together to get there. - Karli Karli Wallace Thompson, Senior Digital Manager Democracy for America What's at stake: Democracy for America has endorsed and is supporting candidates up and down the ballot, not only to defeat Trump and his allies, but to push forward on progressive ideas like Medicare for All and criminal justice reform. Will you step up to support our work in this critical moment? [Yes, I'll contribute $3 a month to win in November and beyond.]( [No, but I can make a one-time contribution.]( Paid for by Democracy for America, and not authorized by any candidate.
