Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks. [Confronting our housing crisis](#) We are facing an affordable housing crisis. Eleven million Americans spend more than half their paycheck on rent. In Upstate New York, I’ve been holding roundtable discussions on affordable housing in [Hudson]( and [Kingston](, listening to residents who desperately want to be able to buy a home or afford the home they are in. In Congress, I’m fighting to lower housing costs by co-sponsoring the [Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act of 2019](, which would add 1.9 million units of affordable housing nationwide and create tens of thousands of jobs over the next decade.
