Shut down oil and gas drilling in polar bears’ arctic home! Join us to fight back and save this

Shut down oil and gas drilling in polar bears’ arctic home! Join us to fight back and save this invaluable landscape and the animals that rely on it. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Polar Bear Exploring the Shore © Tom Schneider]( Defender, The Arctic is one of our greatest irreplaceable natural treasures. This landscape provides an invaluable home to iconic animals like polar bears, providing food, shelter and a place to raise their cubs. But Big Oil plans to turn the Arctic into an industrial sacrifice zone. They’ve begun constructing a massive oil and gas development called the Willow Project that will unleash over 260 million metric tons of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. And some members of Congress want to go even further. They’re considering legislation that would expose even more of the Arctic’s disappearing habitat to oil development. [Don’t let fossil fuel companies destroy polar bear habitat and ruin our climate – pitch in to help us fight back!]( Oil companies are already trying to turn pristine Arctic habitat into a series of polluted oil fields. We’re already in danger of losing this landscape to climate change - this year saw the warmest Arctic summer on record. Polar bears and their cubs may waste away as the sea ice they depend on for hunting disappears. Soon, they could start to run out of habitat to build their dens and raise new cubs. [Defender, polar bears are running out of time. Give today to help save their home!]( These companies have gone too far. They’re destroying natural treasures we may never be able to get back. Defenders is raising the alarm to stop the Willow Project and to prevent Congress from opening up protected Arctic land to even more oil and gas development. The Arctic isn’t Big Oil’s playground – we’re calling for an end to the exploitation and fragmentation of habitat that polar bears and other animals depend on for survival. You can help by amplifying our collective voice with your urgent gift today! [GIVE TO DEFEND THE ARCTIC]( I’m grateful to have you fighting with us in defense of wildlife and wild places.
