Their future is uncertain. Send a message that we won’t abandon wolves by pitching in today! Their future is uncertain. Send a message that we won’t abandon wolves by pitching in today! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [header logo with donate button]( [Gray Wolves - Mom with cubs © John Pitcher/iStock]( Defender, We recently shared this upsetting news: Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) made the tragic decision to capture and relocate the Copper Creek wolf pack, the first breeding pair and litter from the 2023 reintroduction. This risky operation raises many questions about how Colorado’s newest wolf pack was put in such an impossible position. Despite being placed in land rich with suitable habitat and abundant wild prey, some ranchers in the surrounding area delayed or outright refused to implement CPW’s recommendations or assistance to minimize conflicts, instead blaming the wolves and pushing for their removal. Enough is enough. We won’t stand by while wolves are ripped from their habitats. [Donate now to fight for lasting solutions and send a message that we won’t abandon wolves in their time of need!]( [RUSH YOUR EMERGENCY GIFT]( This risky, short-term solution is a major setback for wolf recovery in Colorado. Now, the future of these vulnerable wolves and pups is uncertain. But solutions exist and we’re not giving up on the hope Colorado wolves represent. [Rush a gift now to send a clear message: You aren’t backing down and remain committed to seeing wolves restored to Colorado. We won’t let wolves be put at risk for the sake of political expediency!]( Sincerely, Defenders of Wildlife Defenders of Wildlife 1130 17th Street NW • Washington, DC 20036 defenders.org --------------------------------------------------------------- Photo Credit: Gray Wolves © John Pitcher/iStock This email was sent to {EMAIL} [Update]( your email preferences or [unsubscribe]( [supporter]
