We only have 24 hours to reach our unlocking challenge goal. Will you chip in to help protect imperiled species? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Gray Wolf Howling in Snow © Keith Szafranski/iStock]( Defender, I’m coming to you with a shocking update: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has DENIED vital life-saving protections to wolves under attack in the Northern Rockies. Despite increased attacks, the Interior Department has denied life-saving federal protections to gray wolves in the Northern Rockies. Just last month, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rejected the chance to stop widespread wolf killing in states like Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. With the backing of our members, and against an uptick in anti-wolf attacks, we have been calling for an emergency listing of these wolves under the Endangered Species Act to save hundreds from being hunted and trapped each year. Sadly, the government chose to ignore this crisis. And now it’s up to us to hold the line against a new wave of mass killing. [Our Wolf Resue Week ends tomorrow. Help defend the dream of wolf recovery by pitching in to unlock $25,000 that will save lives!]( Defenders is on the ground right now fighting back against brutal state-level legislation aimed at killing even more wolves, such as expanded hunting and trapping seasons, unlimited quotas and even bounties for dead wolves. We need your help to keep fighting these outrageous attacks! [Don’t forget to give before tomorrow’s deadline: Your gift now helps unlock an additional $25,000!]( We’ve worked so hard to see the dream of wolf recovery made a reality. It’s up to all of us to keep this dream alive. In this critical moment, we need to show that we’re not giving up on wolves. Timing is of the essence – please pitch in with your emergency gift before tomorrow night! [GIVE TO SAVE WOLVES]( Thank you for all you do to protect the animals who need our help. Sincerely, Defenders’ Wolf Team P.S.: The future of wolf recovery is in our hands. Be a part of the success story: [You can create a legacy of defending wolves and other wildlife with your monthly gift by becoming a Wildlife Guardian!]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [YouTube]( Defenders of Wildlife 1130 17th Street NW • Washington, DC 20036 defenders.org --------------------------------------------------------------- Photo credit: Gray Wolf Howling © Keith Szafranski/iStock This email was sent to {EMAIL} Please do not respond to this email.
