Why? Well, the rot within the organization — bribing doctors to bring in patients, falsifying receipts to increase Medicare rebates, and billing the government for unnecessary lab tests — went all the way to the top. So take a guess — who do you think was the top dog overseeing the scheme? (I'll give you a hint: He's got two thumbs, he's creepy, and his approval rating sits at an abysmal 35% among Florida voters!) If you guessed that it's the massively wealthy, extremist Republican Senator of Florida Rick Scott, then BINGO: You're correct! [If a corporate hospital chain won't let this fraudster run the company due to his criminal history, then he has no business representing Floridians in the Senate. Chip in now to help me retire Rick Scott from the Senate.]( [Contribute]( In 1997, the FBI, IRS, and HHS raided his facilities. Four months later, he resigned from the C-suite, floating down on a golden parachute of $9.88 million in cash — and over $300 MILLION MORE in shares. During his 2000 deposition, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times. And eventually, HCA pleaded guilty to 14 felonies — all while Rick Scott got off scot-free. Instead of facing the consequences of his crimes against taxpayers and seniors, this launched the next phase of his career — from venture capital, to television, then urgent care clinics and pharmaceuticals, then lobbying ... ... And by the end of the 2000s, Scott's next career move was to make up the rules for himself entirely — first from the highest office in Florida and then the U.S. Senate. But what really gets me is that while regular Americans jump through hoops to receive medical care, draining their life savings to cover the bill, Scott's fortune has only MULTIPLIED since his entry into "public service." Lucky for him, it only cost a small $64 million fraction of his wealth to buy his way into the Senate, where he's hard at work helping out his fellow fraudsters to this day. But I didn't enter this race because I knew I could buy my way to the Senate. I'm running because, like me, Floridians are fed up with Rick's grift — and, {NAME}, that's why he's spending millions of dollars to beat me. I'm proud that we've built a grassroots movement strong enough to FINALLY hold him accountable for his fraud at the ballot box. But first, I'll need your help to compete with his self-funded campaign. [So before my $150,000 midnight deadline, will you please chip in $5 or more to power my race to retire Rick Scott, flip Florida, and actually work for American families — and NOT ultrawealthy CEOs — in the U.S. Senate?]( Please use the links in this email to start a weekly donation through ActBlue.
