And with that name, I should have gotten your attention. Unfortunately for GE, that name has given financial fraud investigator and Madoff whistleblower, Harry Markopolos, lots of attention.
In a 175-page report, Markopolos claims GE is hiding a massive accounting scandalâ $40 billion kinda massive, to be exact. In his analysis titled âGeneral Electric: A Bigger Fraud Than Enron,â he not so subtly puts GE on blast, and thus their share price fell 15%.
And now, the juicy stuff. Markopolos gave an unnamed hedge fund a sneak peak of the report, and in return, he would receive a percentage of the profits from the movement of GEâs shares. Gucci Taste on a Forever21 Budget
Thereâs two major things Iâve learned about 2019 fashion this week.
- Forever21 is out and Gucci is in
- Most people donât quite have Gucci money
Luxury consignment retailer, The RealReal, said their annual sales report shows people are ditching fast fashion for secondhand luxury goods. Meanwhile, non-consignment luxury retailer, Farfetch, purchased New Guards Group, an Italian company that produces and distributes t-shirts that cost more than my couch, and their stock price plummeted 40%.
The lesson? Just buy the secondhand Yeezys, everyones doing it. [Read more](

Make New Friends But Keep the Old
After years of pity parties, CBS and Viacom are finally merging to form ViacomCBSâ very creative new company name, I know. After the merger, CBS can throw Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, BET, MTV, South Park Studios, and streaming service, Pluto TV, into their bag of tricks.
Itâs fine time the two media companies quit their squabbling over the crown of CEO and joined forces yet again, because competitors like Disney, Netflix, Amazon, AT&T and Comcast are out for blood.
The merger deal may close by the end of this year, so the company can acquire their next weapon⦠I mean, companyâ possibly Lionsgate or Starz. [Read more](
