[Half off, No Exclusions, at J. Crew Factory through 2/20](
Here comes the Presidents Day Weekend sales. And J. Crew Factory, being J. Crew Factory, ain’t gonna let a long weekend (for some) go by without doing a big sale.
Most of you guys know how this works. Often, with some items, half off isn’t as good as it gets for JCF. But for other items? Especially those that are normally excluded? Half off is quite a nice deal. Especially for newer arrivals, since those can take a bit to drop in price. Off we go with the best of the best. This sale doesn’t require a code, and takes 50% off an items”valued at” price.
[Thompson Fit Suits in Worsted]( or [Voyager Wool – $218](
[JCF Thompson Fit Suits](
Normally these things sit at $299, but have been going on sale more and more. This is a plenty fair price though. Yes, they’re fused. And some have reported some quality control issues. But they’re pretty inexpensive suits. And with reasonable care (and a good fit… don’t get pants that are skin tight since those will wear out super fast) a fused, all wool suit should treat those who don’t wear suits all that often pretty well. [Review of the Voyager suit can be found here](.
[Thompson Fit Unconstructed Flex Chino Blazer – $82.45](
[Thompson Fit Unconstructed Flex Chino Blazer](
Was just sitting around $115 – $120ish, and expect it to settle into the low $100s as we move closer to spring (with dips every so often into the double digits thanks to big weekends and/or stacking codes). Really, really hope they make this in a shade of blue or grey. But Khaki is pretty versatile too. Lower patch pockets keep it casual, with a welt at the chest helping it stay streamlined. Wear it with jeans now. Wear it with white or pale grey pants when it really gets hot.
[Linen/Cotton Chambray Pants in Driggs]( (super slim) or [Sutton (slim) fit – $32.25](
[JCF Linen/Cotton Chambray Pants](
A pair of pants that you just might reach for over and over and over again once it heats up. If you live in an area that gets sticky and/or brutally hot in the summer? Having a few go-to pairs of [super breathable pants](Â will serve you well come July and August. Was just listed at around $45ish.
[SLIM Oxford Cloth Button Down Shirts – $29.75](
[SLIM Oxford Cloth Button Down Shirts](
A perfect example of how half off isn’t always the best deal at JCF. Pretty sure these can dip down to around $22ish if you play your cards right (pretty sure these were almost an identical price yesterday, before the promo launched). But $30? For a truly slim Oxford Cloth Button Down? Not bad. A basic that’s worth considering if you’re close-ish to the free shipping at $100 threshold.
[Cotton Shawl Collar Cardigan – $54.00](
[Cotton Shawl Collar Cardigan](
Having a “house” sweater on hand, even for the warmer months, isn’t a bad idea. An extra layer that’s not too bulky, but can still knock back the cool breeze once the sun goes down. This one is made from a marled cotton, so it won’t have the itch that a lambswool, more wintry cardigan, brings with it.
[Thompson Fit Chino Suit Jacket – $84]( & [Classic or Slim Pant – $49](B8631/B8631.jsp?color_name=faded-indigo)
[JCF Thompson Fit Chino Suit](
If there was ever a warm jacket and pant that was asking to be broken up and worn separately, as well as together as a full suit from time to time, it’s this pair. Could easily see the jacket being used as a stand alone sportcoat (say, with jeans or linen pants) and the pant going with a white polo or seersucker short sleeve button up when it gets hot.
[Sunwashed Garment Dyed Polos – $19.75](
[JCF Sunwashed Garment Dyed Polos](
Why do they have that unique look? Because they’re cut and sewn first, and then they’re dyed and washed. Wash before wear, since a bit of color transfer is a risk with these kinds of things. But still, it sure nails the super-casual, but still has a bit of purpose, warm weather look.
[Washed Leather Belt – $19.75](
[JCF Washed Leather Belt](
A basic, but something that walks the line between a chunky casual belt, and a slimmer more dressed up belt. Still casual though. 1.25″ wide. Also available in a lighter brown, but the reviews have said that it’s more bright/lighter in person?
[Lightweight Chinos in Driggs, Sutton, or Bleecker Fit â $29.75](
[JCF Lightweight Chinos](
Very, VERY nice to have once the blistering hot months roll around. Â The difference between these and standard chinos is tangible. Noticeably lighter in weight and nice and breezy. Very comfortable even in the dead of summer. Three fits to pick from. Driggs = true slim (14â³ leg opening), Sutton = slim straight (15.5â³ leg opening), Bleecker = straight (16.5â³ leg opening). Usually costs somewhere around $35-$40.
[Thompson Fit Water Resistant Trench – $84](
[JCF Thompson Fit Water Resistant Trench](
More of a dead simple mac than a trench (no belt, single breasted, no epaulets, just some tabs at the cuffs). Cotton/nylon mix helps keep the water out, while avoiding the space-blanket shined up look that all poly coats can bring. Is it basic to the point of boring? To some it will be. Yet sometimes you don’t have to reinvent the wheel to look good.
[Thompson Fit Peak Lapel Wool Tux Jacket]( & [Pant – $248](
[JCF Thompson Fit Peak Lapel Wool Tux](
Is it missing the traditional, covered buttons that many traditionalists consider a “must” for a tux? Yes. Once you get it tailored will it look better than 99% of rentals, and therefor, most won’t notice your uncovered buttons? Also yes.
The 50% off J. Crew Factory site-wide deal expires on Monday, 2/20.

[Lands’ End 50% off One Item One Day Sale](r/Dappered/~3/jby5IbeYgIY/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email)
Posted: 14 Feb 2017 09:05 AM PST
[LOVE50 & pin 9284 = 50% off one item at Lands’ End](//www.landsend.com/shop/mens/-/N-fz6?cm_re=nav-_-mens-_-main) (exp. 2/14/17)
Some would perhaps accuse this website of not giving Lands’ End enough love. And that’s not a totally unfair observation. Despite some recent struggles at the top of their management food chain, Lands’ End has continued to create reasonably priced, American classics, in a variety of fits and fabrics. Is some of their stuff boxy and borderline norm-core? Yes. But keep an eye out for their more tailored offerings, dip a toe or two into their more fashion-forward “Canvas” line (while it’s still around…), and you can assemble quite a good looking wardrobe from good ol’ Lands’ End.
Speaking of good… the LOVE50 code and 9284 pin seems to work site wide. Regular price or sale. Canvas line or the regular line. It appears to work (if you find an exclusion, let me know: [joe@dappered.com](mailto:joe@dappered.com?subject=hey dummy)). That’s not just good, that’s great. Remember that you can only use this deal on ONE item though. Off we go with some picks.
[Tailored Fit Half Canvas Italian Wool Blazer – $144.50]( ($289)
[Tailored Fit Half Canvas Italian Wool Blazer ](
Hell of a price for a half-canvas wool blazer, made out of fabric sourced from Italy. One drawback? It’s fully lined. Maybe it’s lined in Bemberg, but in the past Lands’ End has used polyester to line their jackets. And it’s not always the best feeling stuff. Still, that price. Could be a real winner. A new arrival.
[Canvas by Lands’ End Suede Bomber – $99.99]( ($495)
[Canvas by Lands' End Suede Bomber](
Boy. [They canned their former CEO](, and it seems like they’re trying to wipe the earth of anything that had her finger prints on it. The “Canvas” line was brought back under her watch, and it got a little (okay, a lot) funky in terms of design. But a classic, suede bomber in a more tailored fit? For a hundred bucks? At post time the code and pin are working on this thing. Seems tough to believe.
[Tailored Fit Supima Oxford Hyde Park Dress Shirt â $24.50]( ($49)
[Tailored Fit Supima Oxford Hyde Park Dress Shirt](
Check out that nice collar roll. Tailored fit. Supima cotton. A basic, but a well executed basic.
[Tailored Fit Lightweight Chino Blazer – $74.75]( ($149) & [Matching Pant – $34.75]( ($69.50)
[Lands' End Lightweight Chino Suit](
It’s a bit early in the season, but if this thing really does live up to the “lightweight” name and the description, then it could be a steal at under $110 total for the suit. Minimal lining. No shoulder pads. Less chest construction. Only problem? If you want the whole suit for that price, you’ll have to wait for another code to come along (or, have someone order it for you) since it’s a 50% off one item deal.
[Tailored Fit Buttondown Sail Rigger Oxford – $19.75]( ($39.50)
[Tailored Fit Buttondown Sail Rigger Oxford](
A more casual, rumpled version of their Hyde Park oxfords. Multiple colors to pick from. Kinda a bummer that free shipping doesn’t kick in until $50 though.
[Cashmere V-Neck â $49.99 – $89.50]( ($179)
[Lands' End Cashmere V-Neck](
Some of their colors are now half off (versatile shades like forest green and dark brown among them). So those get the lower, just under $50 price point. For the rest? Ninety bucks ainât cheap, but the cashmere that Lands’ End uses really is a step above their competition. Fit is more of a straight fit, less super slim. Not enormous if you’ve got some bulk on you though.
[Flat Front Tailored Fit Wool Year ârounder Dress Pants â $44.50]( ($89)
[Flat Front Tailored Fit Wool Year ârounder Dress Pants](
Well loved by many. Nice, lighter weight merino wool. Lots of colors to pick from and you can have emâ hemmed before they leave the warehouse. Just be warned: thereâs not a ton of room in the seat. So if your box jumps and squats have produced some [badonkadonk]( your glutes might end up shrink wrapped in well-priced merino.
[Canvas by Lands’ End Canvas and Suede Duffel – $85]( ($170)
[Canvas by Lands' End Canvas and Suede Duffel](
Preppy and then some. Canvas body with suede handles and a suede base. 2310 cubic inches of interior space should be enough for most who pack reasonably light, or, it’d make for a nice secondary bag for a longer weekend away.
[Flannel 5-Pockets in Light Grey or Navy â $22.49]( ($79)
[Lands' End Flannel 5-Pockets | Dappered.com](
Just about out of time to wear these, but… they’re a steal at this price. Crazy comfortable. Has a perfect level of âfuzzâ⦠meaning, theyâre soft, but not furry. Easy to wear with sweaters or sportcoats. Straight fit, and available in either this pale grey shown above, or a deep navy. Size shown is 33Ã30.
[Tailored Fit Linen Blazer â $114.50]( ($229)
[Lands' End Tailored Fit Linen Blazer](
100% linen, appears to have just a butterfly lining for the back, and comes in their tailored fit. Is it too early to be wearing an all linen sportcoat? Not with a pattern like that. Should do just fine with jeans now, then off white or light grey chinos or trousers once the sun finally comes back out from behind the clouds.
[Canvas by Lands’ End Sweater Polo – $30]( ($60)
[Canvas by Lands' End Sweater Polo](
Straight outta the Rat Pack’s collective closet. Takes some style onions to pull off, but if you got em’? You got em’. And a sweater polo can look darn good with tailored chinos and loafers. Somewhere, Dean Martin is smiling. He’s drunk as a rat, but he’s still smiling.
[UNLINED Moon Mills Tailored Fit Hacking Jacket â $197.50]( ($395)
[UNLINED Moon Mills Tailored Fit Hacking Jacket | Dappered.com](
A favorite, but coming towards the end of the season where it’ll be comfortable to wear. If you like the heritage sportswear look, but hate the full/baggy fits a lot of that stuff can suffer from? Then this might be a real find for you. Their true, tailored (but not skinny) fit. Totally unlined back. British tweed. Leather buttons. The real deal. Size shown is a 40R.
[Tailored Fit Blackwatch Flannel Jacket – $59.99]( ($299)
[Tailored Fit Blackwatch Flannel Jacket](
[LOUD NOISES](. Speaking of sportcoats that we’re running out of time to wear… We’re well past the holidays, and that would be one of the few times of the year where something like this would look “right.” But still. Sixty bucks. If you’re the type to plan WAY ahead? Might be worth a shot.
[Oxford Solid Sheet Set – $59.50 – $89.50](
[Lands' End Oxford Solid Sheet Set](
Huge thanks to reader Brian C. for sending in the tip on these sheets. They’re made out of the exact same, cool and crisp fabric that Lands’ End makes their oxford shirts out of. According to Brian C., once you get these things, you’re hooked, and they just get better with age/washings. Price range above indicates what you pay depending on your mattress size (twin, full, queen, king).
The half off one item code and pin LOVE50 and 9284 expires today, 2/14/17.
