Thatâs what these are for. Spring might not be here for you yet. Doesn’t mean we all can’t look forward to that first day when it sorta kinda MAYBE feels like spring. Sun’s finally out all day, stuff is melting, and it’s warm enough to (maybe) go without a jacket. Here’s one way to put one foot forward into the new season, without going full floral patterns and bright colors. [First Day Spring Casual Style Scenario 2021] The Jacket: [Goodthreads Merino Wool / Acrylic Super Lightweight Hoodie – $20 – $55](. Quite the price range depending on size, but man, this could easily become a go-to (it has for me). Perfect for transitional weather, chilly summer nights, as a midlayer… you name it. It’s thin, yes, but that’s kinda the point; merino has the amazing ability to regulate temp on both ends of the spectrum. The Sunglasses: [J.Crew Blue Tortoise “Whitecap” Sunglasses â $59.50](//www.jcrew.com/p/mens_category/sunglasses/whitecap-sunglasses/AK082?color_name=blue-tort). Blue Tortoise? That’s certainly unique, in a good way. Acetate and steel frame. Comes with measurements of 51-21-140. The Shirt: [Abercrombie & Fitch Airknit Curved Hem Henley in Heather Pink – $29](. In case you missed [the big round up Paul did](, Abercrombie has largely ditched the logos, and has their own line of breathable, moisture-wicking basics. This henley looks to nail it on fit, and the moisture-wicking material should keep you comfortable. This subtle pink is just enough color to usher us out of the more muted, earthy tones of winter. Want something cheaper/just can’t see yourself buying anything from Abercrombie? Target’s Goodfellow does great, cheap, cotton henleys. [Try this $13 option in pink](. The Shorts: [Target Goodfellow & Co. 7″ Slim Fit Shorts in Gray – $19.99](. Part of the upcoming Goodfellow Spring 2020 Roundup that’s in the works, these are a lot of shorts for not a lot of dollars. There’s a bit of texture, enough to make sure they’re not too smooth against the heather texture of the henley. Not feeling shorts just yet? Totally understood. It’s still QUITE cold for a lot of us. An alternative would be their [lightweight jeans.]( Those could do the trick here. The Watch: [Breda PEI Leather Strap Watch 41mm â $120](. Simple, understated, and gotta love that accent blue seconds hand. The Watch Strap: [Crown & Buckle Chevron Oxford Watch Strap â $27.20]( ($32). Having had a similar strap for a few weeks now, it’s the most versatile strap I own, and fully warm-weather-ready. Made of woven nylon and sporting a nifty heathered/flecked pattern, you can dress it up or down. Shown in the top photo is my [Cheapest Nato Straps “Nightsky Lumed”]( version, which I highly recommend, if you don’t mind the sometimes-lengthy wait on the $1.99 international shipping. The Socks: [Gap No-Show Socks (2-pack) – $10ish](. I was as skeptical as you may be. Gap? Cotton socks? Bleh. BUT, with a pair currently in hand (in foot?), these are super comfortable, cushion-y, and stay on my heel better than most things I’ve put on my feet for <$10. Even though they are 87% cotton, the first day it feels like spring? Shouldn’t be too hot for cotton. Feel like paying up? Lululemon’s [Power Stride]( line is pricey, but practically unbeatable. A big round up of the best no-show socks is also in the works. So stay tuned for that. The Belt: [Banana Republic Braided Leather Belt â $59.50](. I own a similar belt in braided cotton, but this braided leather screams warmer weather and can be dressed up or down, unlike my cotton one. Affordable and timeless without looking too old-country-club prep. Goes on sale a lot. (Although it’s not on sale at post time, so, cool your heels perhaps?) The Shoes: [Puma Super Liga OG Retro Leather – $49.97]( ($70). Or your favorite clean white sneakers. Adidas Stan Smith are shown at the very top of the post. Meaning, someone called in a sale at another retailer to Nordstrom, and Nordstrom’s famously kind customer service department said “yeah, sure, we’ll meet that price.” Don’t know where they found these prices, don’t know why, and don’t know for how long. But 20% off is solid (not mind blowing, solid) because Nordy has to be an authorized dealer, which means you get a factory warranty, AND a bit of a discount. You just don’t get the factory warranty at cut price gray market dealers. That’s why they’re cut price. [Nordstrom Watches Sale 32321] - [Tissot 40mm Gentleman Automatic – $580]( ($725)

But there’s plenty of Tissot and Mido and other Swiss-mades that aren’t in the stratospheric price range that luxury brands like Rolex/Omega exist in. Shipping and returns are still free. Big thanks to Andrew S. for the tip. That’s all. Carry on. ff/Dappered?a=dAyAGYxwRHs:cuTr-kPZp-c:yIl2AUoC8zA ff/Dappered?a=dAyAGYxwRHs:cuTr-kPZp-c:qj6IDK7rITs ff/Dappered?a=dAyAGYxwRHs:cuTr-kPZp-c:gIN9vFwOqvQ [In Review: The Abercrombie & Fitch 96 Hours Collection](r/Dappered/~3/vpw9ZqwRkRg/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email) Posted: 23 Mar 2021 08:00 AM PDT Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. And while many of us still steer very clear from Abercrombie & Fitch due to the scarring they provided us in the aughts (Paul mentions this below), a few style tips (thanks by the way) have come in on A&F stuff in the last year. Maybe they really are [trying to grow up](? [Maybe](? Below you’ll find Paul K’s review of the new athleisure/tech-wear leaning 96 hours collection. Just dipping a toe in the A&F pool. Not going full cannonball. Thanks for understanding. When Joe sprang up the opportunity for reviewing some items from Abercrombie & Fitch, thoughts of [Seth Rogen shirtless trying to pose next to Zac Efron]( in the movie Neighbors quickly flashed in my mind. Heavy scents of their cologne being misted hourly in their stores during my visits, while holding whomeverâs purse of which woman I was dating in my college years strolled through my memories. Though, I have yet to step into a mall during the pandemic. Iâm surprised how âun-half-nakedâ the male models are on the website compared to the ad campaign littered through the windows of their stores in the early 2000âs. Progress? Their [96 hours collection]( is a specific, separate collection from their main line. Consisting of performance-based/simple athleisure pieces (and there’s a lot of items in the collection), it’s branded as “the A&F get sh*t done uniform.” Well okay then. So letâs see how some of this 96 hours collection stacks up to the Dappered standard. For a fit perspective: All shirts are in medium and pants in small. For size reference, I am 5â10 and 175 lbs [Airknit Curved Hem Crew Tee in Light Heather Blue – $29]( [Airknit Curved Hem Crew Tee in Light Heather Blue]( Pricey for a basic crew tee, yet not quite a dedicated workout/weight lifting shirt. One of those in-between items, which is precisely what a lot of brands are going for these days ([ahem](), to try and replicate the success of [Lululemon](. If you DO decide to go for a light jog or run, this could double for you. Made from their “airknit” material and comprised of 88% polyester and 12% elastane. The slim fit and overall softness is a win for something with a modern cut. Being that this is a curved hem vs straight hem of traditional tees, itâs more of a style that the âyounger kidsâ are going for, yet not exaggerated like some street brands are styled. Surprisingly, just like most of the rest of the 96 hours collection, there isnât any branding or logos present. Pretty good standard tee. Five different colors to pick from. Just grab them more when they go on sale. [Lightweight Traveler Joggers in Light Grey – $79]( [Lightweight Traveler Joggers in Light Grey]( A slim jogger that you can actually jog in, though I wouldnât recommend sprinting. NOT made of the airknit material. 89% Polyester, 11% Elastane. Tags indicated that there are some water repellent and wrinkle release features. I didnât get to run through any sprinklers to test that. Perforations behind the knee allow some heat venting along with the mesh pockets. There’s even a hidden pocket that can fit a card sleeve, minimalist wallet, or similar size of your EDC items. One great attention to detail was the inner waistband with the extra stitching for doing squats and not slipping. Smartly (athleisure) stylish and functional that comes with a high price tag. Another four colors to pick from here, all basic hues you’d expect. [Airknit Hoodie in Heather Grey – $55]( [Airknit Hoodie in Heather Grey]( No baggy kangaroo pouch? No baggy, super long sleeves? [A hood that’s not brick-thick or bulky](? I’m surprised. And impressed. The same amount of stretch and softness as the rest of the Airknit-based 96 hour tops. Trim, but not restrictive. This is one hoodie that I can see myself wearing in more athleisure outfits. Just two colors to choose from though. There does appear to be [something almost identical on sale]( at post time, although that alternative DOES have side pockets and a rubber logo tag at the hem. Still claims to be the airknit fabric though. [Airknit Long-Sleeve Airknit Henley – $39]( [Airknit Long-Sleeve Airknit Henley]( Slightly reminiscent of the Ministry of Supply henley [reviewed in the Palooza](, without the hefty price tag. The solid construction of the placket with three buttons gives it a premium look. Slim fitting, great collar feel, yet despite claiming to be made from the “air knit” stuff, the material did not feel quite as soft as the other airknit pieces? Sleeves ran a bit longer than I would like, reaching slightly to my knuckles. Rolling up your sleeves definitely is the look to go for when wearing this. If you can get past the sleeve length, this is another item worth trying on and picking up. Also available in grey, green, and a dark reddish brown. [Airknit Moisture-Wicking Golf Polo – $35]( ($49) [Airknit Moisture-Wicking Golf Polo]( Big, big potential on this. Not going to lie, these are truly slim-fitting. More so than the rest of the collection. Not quite Express extra slim, but the front, back, [and sleeves are more fitted](. Asking price is steep when not on sale, but the quality is there. Little details such as the locker loop, tags on the bottom side of the shirt, and no logos present all definitely make it look âgrown-upâ. Softness of the air knit also applies to the feel of the shirt here too. Thereâs just one detail that made this a soft pass for me. [The collar has no shape on its own](. Unless you fully button this up, thereâs going to be flopping happening here. Yet I can see this paired with linen-blended blazers and fully buttoned up as a working combo when Summer temps approach us. Nine color options (some being stripes like the navy-blue stripe shown above) to pick from. [All Day Utilty Joggers in Olive Green – $79]( [All Day Utilty Joggers in Olive Green]( Another jogger, this one with a blend of 69% Cotton, 27% Nylon, 4% Elastane. Trying these on, the softness of the inner waistband is something that I wish more brands would incorporate on more joggers and training pants. Thereâs some oomph to the material but not your 80âs typical sweatpant feel. [Thick cotton ribbed cuffs]( add to the comfort. [The hidden zipper pocket]( is spacious enough for a smartphone. I just wish the main pockets also incorporated hidden zippers, or at least how the back pocket has overlapped openings for a cleaner look. Well fitting but the thighs and knees felt a littl baggy. Overall, itâs a comfy jogger to wear out and about…. if youâre comfy with spending eighty bucks on a pair of joggers.
