Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. [Hereâs why.](
Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend or a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.Â
[Allen Edmonds: Rediscover America Sale Ends MONDAY](
[Allen Edmonds](
- [McAllister Wingtip Oxford â $245]( ($395)
- [Dalton WEATHERPROOF Wingtip Boot â $329]( ($475)
- [Alpine Cap Toe Boots â $275]( ($395)
- [Higgins Mill in Weatherproof Grain â $325]( or [Chromexcel â $295]( ($395 â $425)
- [Fifth Ave. Cap Toe Oxford â $245]( ($395)
- [Cornwallis Dress Oxford â $245]( ($395)
Last weekend for this guys. Now or pretty much never. And if you havenât already, you can save an additional 15% off by [signing up for their email list (the âcollectorsâ)]( and youâll get a one time 15% off code. [Full picks from the sale can be found here](.
[Woodlore: Buy one get one free Cedar Shoe Trees – $19.95]( ($39.90)
[Woodlore Cedar Shoe Trees](
And in case you do dive into the Rediscover America Sale (or, you’re already swimming in the deep end of it), the AE owned Woodlore cedar company is doing a big buy one get one free sale on their basic adjustable shoe trees. Two pairs of shoe trees for twenty bucks? Excellent. Free shipping doesn’t kick in until $50 though, so, be aware of that fact. Big thanks to Carlon H. for the tip here!
[J. Crew: 40% off select w/ FLASHLOVE](
- [Dock peacoat with Thinsulate – $178.80]( ($298)
- [Sussex quilted vest with Primaloft – $58.80]( ($98)
- [Ludlow shawl-collar dinner jacket in buffalo check Italian wool – $238.80]( ($398)
- [Wallace & Barnes blazer in herringbone merino wool-nylon – $88.80]( ($148)Â
FLASHLOVE? Sounds like something you should report to the police. 40% off though is pretty steep for J. Crew, and while their Kenton boots and the vast majority of their sportcoats are excluded, some ol’ favorites like their Dock Peacoat and Sussex Quilted Vest are getting the 40% off.
[Timex: Q Diver Reissue Restock today – $179 (Thursday 10/17)](
[Timex: Q Diver Reissue](
I know, I know. Some of you are sick of seeing this thing on Dappered. But it’s hugely popular and sells out quickly. A design Timex brought back from the 70s. Quartz movement of course, which at the time of original design was new-ish fancy tech for consumers. 38mm in diameter. Acrylic crystal, so itâll scratch, but believe it or not thatâs what a lot of guys want. Especially in a retro design like this (itâs more authentic to the original). 50m water resistance, which, well, [that should be… good!]( It looks great if youâre after that 1970âs vibe. I don’t know what time the restock goes live. Will try and update ASAP.

[Lands' End](//www.landsend.com/shop/mens/S-xec-xe2?cm_re=lec-_-global-_-glbnv-men-_-20160316-_-txt)
- [Hooded 800 Down Jacket â $99.97](//www.landsend.com/products/mens-hooded-800-down-jacket/id_341184_59?sku_0=::OS5) ($199.95)
- [Tailored Fit 10 Wale Stretch Corduroy Sport Coat â $89.97](//www.landsend.com/products/mens-tailored-fit-10-wale-stretch-corduroy-sport-coat/id_339029?sku_0=::CHS&dysku=5326724) ($179.95)

- [Primaloft Quilted Jacket â $74.97](//www.landsend.com/products/mens-primaloft-quilted-car-coat/id_313553?sku_0=::CLN) ($149.95)
Has to be just one item though. Picking up more than just one item? Try the 40% off full price (no limit) PLUS free shipping no minimum code BONUS40. Being that free shipping doesn’t kick in until $75 now, that free shipping no minimum deal can be quite nice. Prices above reflect the half off offer.
[BONUSÂ Huckberry: New Rhodes Chelseas & Desert Boots](
[Huckberry Rhodes Boots](
- [Rhodes Footwear Made in Portugal Huxley Boot – $220](
- [Rhodes Footwear Made in Italy Dylan Desert Boot – $150](
Huckberry’s exclusive “Rhodes” brand of shoes just released some new styles. Chelseas and desert boots are the newest addition to their already strong line up. (Review of their heritage style work boots [can be found here](, and [their chukkas can be found here](.) The Huxley chelseas are Blake stitched in Portugal like most of their other styles, while the Dylan desert Boots are made in Italy. Those new chelseas look like they lean a little workwear in style? Think more [R.M. Williamson](, and a little less [A.E. Liverpool](.
[BONUS IIÂ Ledbury:Â 20% off $150 / 25% off $250 / 30% off $350 starts TOMORROW (Fri. 10/18)](
[Ledbury on Dappered.com](
- [1 White Fine Twill Dress Shirt]( ($145) +Â [1 Blue Fine Twill Mid Spread Dress Shirt]( ($145) =Â $217.50Â total ($290)Â
- [1 Burgundy McFadden Windowpane Dress Shirt]( ($135) + [1 Navy McFAdden Windowpane Dress Shirt]( ($135) = $202.50 total ($270)
It’s Ledbury’s big anniversary sale, and for those of us who are enormous fans of their quality, their attention to detail, and that oh-so-perfect slightly lowered second button on their shirts, this is big news. One fat note though: [Their new, less expensive “Essentials” collection is excluded](. So, that’s a bit of a bummer. 3rd party stuff and bundles are also excluded, but other than that, it should be fair game.
[BONUS IIIÂ New Republic: New Boots for Fall are in – $99 – $109](
[New Republic](
This is Mark McNairy’s popular, cheap brand. I don’t have any direct experience with them, but I’ve heard that they’re not bad for the price. Just a warning on the crepe sole options: That stuff can get slippery in wet weather. Not a sale here, but, like I said. Seems popular with some of you guys. $99 gets you suede boots, $109 gets you the smooth leather.
Also worth a mention:
- [Allen Edmonds Factory 2nds Shoebank](: Extra 20% off ends Monday too, just remember that there’s a $25 restocking fee on any returns through the mail.
- [DSW]( 25% off all boots w/ COOLBOOTS or, 20% off everything else w/ COOLSTUFF
- [Need Supply Co](: 30% off, no code needed, some exclusions though.
- [Brooks Brothers](//www.brooksbrothers.com/Sale/sale,default,sc.html): Extra 25% off sale items + 15% off w/ BC1818. [Full picks here](.
- [Spier & Mackay]( Their new [Goodyear Welted, made in Portugal shoes have landed](. Review of the double monks [can be found here](.

Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. [Hereâs why.](
As much as this website [encourages]( people to [disconnect](, podcasts are one of those things that are an exception to that rule. Theyâre incredible. And they can make the mundane ([doing laundry](, riding the bus, [ironing]( or [shining shoes]() nothing short of extraordinary. Each month our resident podcast connoisseur, [Dave I.](, finds three podcasts worth your time and ears. Itâs October and that means Halloween. And that means horror, so read onâ¦if you dare!
[The Magnus Archives](
[The Magnus Archives](
The Magnus Institute is an organization located in England tasked with research into the unexplained. Regular people come in off the street and share their experiences with archivist Jonathan Sims, who records their conversations and then tasks Institute staff with investigating what they’ve been told. The podcast is serialized, meaning listeners have to start with Episode 1 “Angler Fish” from March 23, 2016 and work their way forward. Episodes run in length anywhere from 25 to 35 minutes and include a cast of diverse characters, each with their own quirks. Seasons one and two have some, what I feel, are truly scary storytelling. Especially if you are listening to the stories while wearing headphone and sitting in a darkened room. The next time you’re in England, you might find yourself looking for the Magnus Institute to share a tale of your own.
[The NoSleep Podcast]()
[The No Sleep Podcast](
With a name like “The NoSleep Podcast” you know exactly what you’re getting. Tales to keep you up at night as your mind churns through the possibilities from each story. Episodes feature anywhere from one to three stories, with each story told by one main storyteller and supported with additional voice talent. The episodes are well produced and the voice actors are topnotch. Episodes are stand alone and self contained. So if you miss a week or more, you’re not left scrambling to catch up with the story-line. Start with episode 08 from season 13 released on August 10, 2019. Follow that with episode 23 from Season 12, released on May 18, 2019 and finish off with episode 20 from season 11, released on October 13, 2018.
[Snap Judgment Presents: Spooked]()
[Snap Judgment Presents: Spooked](
Spooked is an off-shoot of the popular Snap Judgment podcast hosted by Glynn Washington and features a weekly user submitted true life haunted/spectral story for the months of September and October. What makes Spooked compelling listening is the way in which the stories are told. Ordinary people, sitting down in front of the microphone, and recording their experiences. No sound effects. No dramatic takes. Just simple storytelling. Believe the stories or not, it becomes clear in listening to the podcast that the people telling the tales are not out seeking fame or fortune. They just want to share their tale. The nice thing about this podcast is the feed only comes alive for two months of the year. The rest of the time, the feed stays dormant. Start with “Something In The Walls” from September 20, 2018, then move on to “The Summoning” from October 15, 2017 before really getting freaked out with “Sharp Tooth Boy” from September 13, 2019.

[B.R. Core Temp Dress Pants – $83](Â ($119)
Note: These are currently on sale for $83, but could drop to $71.40 during the next 40% off sale. Potentially further with more infrequent codes and deals (say, half off.) So if you can hang tight, you can save some cash.
About the Author: Brandon D. is [a recently married]( trial attorney living in Houston, TX (but will forever be a New Yorker). Brandon has been wearing a suit to work for the better part of a decade, so he appreciates the insights into quality-yet-affordable style options for which Dappered is known. When not at work, he enjoys traveling with his wife, lounging with his dog Charlie (sheâs half-Chihuahua/half-Dachshund, which has the added bonus of being known as a âChiweenieâ), and the weekly trip to Costco.
It took longer than we expected, but Banana Republic Core Temp Dress Pants are here! Sure, they arrived after the [chinos]( (quite nice), [shorts]( (ditto), and [drawstring pants]( (unconscionable, though if I had to pick a spokesman for a product that makes me say âI mean, I guessâ, itâd be [Jared Goff](), but theyâre here.*
[In Review: Banana Republic's Slim Non Iron Core Temp Dress Pants | Dappered.com](
Size shown is 36×32 on 5’11” 200lbs.
Made from 59% cotton, 39% polyester, 2% elastane, these have a slightly different makeup than the Core Temp Chinos (the former have 4% more cotton, the same polyester, and by default, 4% less elastane). Does this make a difference in how they feel? Not to me. They breathe well like the chinos, theyâre similarly light weight yet sturdy, they have the same care instructions (machine wash), and they are stretchy. A âswish swishâ sound? Not unless you have dog ears. Itâs safe to say that if you believe that the Core Temp Chinos are the perfect chino, youâll feel the same way about the dress pants.
[In Review: Banana Republic's Slim Non Iron Core Temp Dress Pants | Dappered.com](
Stretch? Yes! They still stretch, despite 4% less elastane than the flagship, more casual chinos.
Shoes shown are [the Allen Edmonds McAllister in Oxblood](.
Theyâre also different (for the better) in the ways youâd hope and expect out of dress pants. While the chinos have a slight shine to them that some may not like, these have a matte look you expect out of dress pants. The back pockets do button close, so any issue you may have with the original core temp chinos should be gone here. They also come in traditional âdress pantsâ colors: charcoal, beige, grey, and navy (BRâs ad copy team gave them fancy names, but those are the colors in actuality). So between the look and fit, these are by definition âwork appropriate.â
[Banana Republic's Slim Non Iron Core Temp Dress Pants](
Only four colors available: Deep Coal, Biscotti Beige, London Fog Gray (shown), and Smoky Navy
Are there drawbacks? Yes. But like the chinos, theyâre few and far between, and (to me) are relatively minor. First, these are only available in a slim fit (though not âAidenâ). So those with larger legs might be out of luck. But Iâm a member of that crew, and these fit me quite well. I noticed that they were slightly tighter in the quads, but that could either be due to the fact that my chinos are broken in and/or I may have (see: did) put on a few pounds during my honeymoon (and it was totally worth it). Nevertheless, either take your normal size or play it safe and also order the next size up. Second, while most quality dress pants are lined in slick fabric like silk (often to the knee), these are not. Is that an issue? Well, since most dress pants are wool, the lining serves as a barrier between your legs and potential friction. But these pants arenât wool. And in wearing them, the lack of lining does not appear to be an issue.
[In Review: Banana Republic's Slim Non Iron Core Temp Dress Pants | Dappered.com]
Not so sure about the “non iron” part. You might need to iron.
Shirt is a [Lands’ End Tailored Fit Button Down](//www.landsend.com/products/mens-essential-lightweight-poplin-shirt/id_332113_59:1234?sku_0=::NJG).
Third, and likely because these are new, these are either âexcluded from all promotionsâ or eligible for all of them depending on the day. Most recently, they were 52% off (40% + extra 20% for card members) one day and full price with no exceptions the next. That will change as these get more time on the site. For now, be aware that these almost certainly will go on sale if they currently are not. And fourth, these arenât as versatile as the chinos. But this is like complaining that you can only wear your tuxedo to a wedding (a rule that [most of us]( stick to). Dress pants are meant for work, and these are ideal for work in almost any office and for almost any outfit that doesnât involve sneakers (sneakers also includes [Cole Haan Lunargrands](//www.zappos.com/cole-haan-mens-lunargrand?utm_source=google&utm_medium=sem_g&utm_campaign=14579900&utm_term=aud-298100060802:kwd-62818953237&utm_content=__iv_p_1_g_43308947434_c_184047739143_w_aud-298100060802:kwd-62818953237_n_g_d_c_v__l__t__r_1t2_x__y__f__o__z__i__j__s__e__h_9029555_ii__vi__&zap_placement=1t2&_ivgu=32a55a51-4cc6-40a3-886d-af2418592fcd), which manage to offend fans of dress shoes and sneakers all at once).
Editor’s Note: I now know what I’m sending Brandon for the holidays this year. [A pair of loud-arse Lunargrands](//www.zappos.com/p/cole-haan-original-grand-wingtip-oxford-magnet-suede-sulphur-spring/product/9102755/color/791890), and [some core temp drawstrings](.)
Overall, these are a huge win for anyone whoâs already a fan of the Core Temp line, and anyone whoâs in need of some excellent, new dress pants.

*As of today, BR also has core temp options for [blazers](, [sweatshirts](, [sweaters](, [shirts](, and [jackets](. So, if you haven’t noticed, BR makes core temp… clothing. No word on the ETA for core temp ties/bowties/ascots, but letâs guess and say summer of 2021.
