[DANA NESSEL - THE PEOPLE'S LAWYER]( {NAME} – I am so damn proud of my team. Our team fought hard to protect women and ensure nurses and doctors can keep caring for their patients without fear of prosecution. [In June of 2022, [women] woke up to find that with the stroke of a pen, they had been relegated to second-class citizens in their own homes. -Christina Grossi, Deputy Attorney General]( And this week – we won! A judge issued an injunction that will allow abortions to remain legal statewide. He agreed that the 1931 abortion ban is “dangerous and chilling” to childbearing people and medical professionals. But the sad reality is that a number of Michigan GOP leaders are actively looking for ways to ensure Michigan’s draconian 1931 law is the law of the land. My opponent, Matt DePerno, has repeatedly touted his extreme, “no exceptions” stance on abortion. DePerno makes no exceptions to allow abortion in cases of rape, incest, medical emergencies, or even to save the life of the mother. If elected Michigan’s Attorney General, DePerno has vowed to vigorously prosecute any and all instances of abortion. [But as long as I remain the People’s Lawyer, I will always fight like hell to protect these fundamental rights. With so much on the line, I have to ask: will you chip in anything you can afford today to my re-election campaign?]( [Chip in $5 >>]( [Chip in $25 >>]( [Chip in $50 >>]( [Chip in $100 >>]( [Chip in $250 >>]( [Chip in another amount >>]( It’s important to remember that today’s decision is temporary. A recent poll showed that 56% of Michigan voters want the 1931 abortion ban overturned. And there are over 2.2 million women of reproductive age in Michigan. That’s who we’re fighting for, because that’s what voters hired me to do. There's a choice to make. You can side with Matt DePerno, a man who wants to prosecute providers and women who are seeking abortion care. Or you can stand with me, the candidate who has vowed to protect a woman's fundamental right to dictate what happens to her own body. [I’m up for re-election in less than 80 short days. So I’m asking you to dig deep to fight with us and rush a donation today:]( [Chip in $5 >>]( [Chip in $25 >>]( [Chip in $50 >>]( [Chip in $100 >>]( [Chip in $250 >>]( [Chip in another amount >>]( Thank you, Dana --------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for being a part of Dana's re-election campaign!
