(File 1984) [Looking back — and ahead — as the Dallas Museum of Art turns 40]( On Jan. 29, 1984, 40 years ago, an eager public was welcomed inside the limestone-clad fortress designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes. One of the showstoppers was the 5,500-pound sculpture Stake Hitch (currently in storage), which was commissioned by the museum and made by husband and wife artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
