[He noted a fatal shooting earlier that morning]( at a northwest Dallas strip club parking lot where a security guard reportedly killed a customer who allegedly fired at another patron during a fight. "We are truly stretched too thin, and we do too much, which is exactly why we need this," said García, who took over the department almost a year ago. "We’re often asked by council what more we need. This is that prime example of what we need to further reduce violent crime in our city."
