Here is a look at the top headlines of the day. 🔎 Prefer the online view? It's [here](. The Dallas Morning News obtained video of Tony Timpa's death in Dallas police custody nearly three years after the incident occurred in 2016. The video's release came after a lengthy records battle with the Dallas Police Department. The video revealed Timpa was handcuffed as he yelled and begged for help more than 30 times. (File) INVESTIGATION [How the Dallas police’s open portal led to the true, untold story of Tony Timpa’s death]( The first story Dallas police told Tony Timpa’s family was that he had suffered a heart attack at a bar and then died. In another version from police, Timpa called 911, got into an ambulance and then collapsed. None of that was true. It was August 2016. After hearing the inconsistent stories, Vicki Timpa sought records from police to understand what happened to her son, who was 32 years old and suffered from schizophrenia and a substance abuse disorder. At that point, the only thing she knew for sure was that he had called 911 before he died. Around the same time, former Dallas Morning News reporter Cary Aspinwall got a news tip about Timpa’s death.
