Jakes is piloting a new development in Atlanta, with plans to spread to D-FW]( Bishop T.D. Jakes is one step closer to building a community aimed at creating multigenerational wealth in Atlanta following the approval of [his company’s development plan]( Thursday. The Fort Mac Local Redevelopment Authority authorized T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures LLC’s initial interim master development plan to redevelop a portion of the former Fort McPherson Army Base. Jakes, founder of The Potter’s House megachurch in southern Dallas, struck a deal in June to acquire 95 acres of land to create a community with affordable housing, mixed-use retail space and other quality-of-life enhancing amenities. The exact price of the project is still unknown, he said.
