[A Texas cop, who calls himself the âsecretâ son of the late Charley Pride, is contesting the singerâs will]( Charley Pride, an American icon in country music and civil rights, whose legacy is memorialized in the Smithsonian Institution, died in December, a victim of COVID-19. He left behind a will acknowledging his three children, Carlton, Dion and Angela, and their mother Rozene, his widow. But news surfaced in May indicating that Prideâs biography includes a chapter that remained largely unknown to the public: a fourth child, Tyler Pride,[who is now contesting the singerâs will]( in a lawsuit. In many ways the lawsuit tells a broader story, one of money and acrimony, family relationships and a need for recognition. [Ahead of 2022 elections, Texas Democrats will target nearly 2 million unregistered voters](
Texas Democrats want to register nearly 2 million unregistered voters they believe skew Democratic as part of a[strategy they hope will turn Texas blue in 2022.](
Project Texas, a $1.7 million dollar initiative, would be the largest voter registration program Texas Democrats have attempted, Democratic strategist Luke Warford said in a press conference announcing the initiative Tuesday.
