(Lola Gomez / Staff Photographer) FEATURED STORY [North Texas egg farm lands deal with major grocer after winter storm damage]( A small egg farm in Pickton, Texas, is slowly recovering after February’s winter storm, which decimated much of the agriculture industry in Texas. Cedar Ridge Egg Farm lost hundreds of chickens after a pipe in one of the barns burst during the freeze, and they had to sell the rest of their birds after they stopped laying eggs following the storm. Now, the farm is back on track thanks to bank loans, donations and a partnership with one of the state’s top grocery chains. Farm co-owner Sam Miller was working on repairing the damaged barn one day when he got the call. It was a buyer for H-E-B saying that the grocery store wanted to sell Cedar Ridge eggs in their Central Market stores. Shocked by the proposition and overwhelmed by the repairs in front of him, [Miller wasn’t quite sure how to respond](.
