González / Staff Photographer) BUSINESS [Baylor Scott & White Health targets another 1,700 jobs to reduce costs in non-core areas]( Baylor Scott & White Health, the state’s largest not-for-profit hospital system, will be outsourcing and retraining 1,700 employees as part of a broader effort to focus on its core health care business and related opportunities. The company said no positions involve front-line health workers, who’ve been dealing with the unprecedented demands of the coronavirus pandemic for almost a year. About two-thirds of the affected workers will be transferred to third-party partners that specialize in information technology, billing and revenue management and other support services. [About 600 to 650 positions will be eliminated]( and those employees will be invited to participate in retraining programs.
