(Ben Torres / Special Contributor) FOOD AND DRINK [Why bar reopenings this week are largely a formality in North Texas]( Dallas County bars are still closed as coronavirus cases climb again, but officials in the counties of Denton, Collin and Tarrant recently gave approval for bars to reopen at 50% capacity on Oct. 14, per Gov. Greg Abbott’s announcement on Oct. 8. Many of the bars in these three counties, however, as well as in Dallas, [had already legally reopened in past months]( by increasing their food sales and being reclassified as restaurants by the TABC.
