Worker at DPS Carrollton Mega Center gave false information about testing postitive for coronavirus
AUSTIN â Officials at the Department of Public Safety said Monday that [an employee at the Carrollton driverâs license office who said last week they had tested positive for the novel coronavirus had in fact tested negative and lied]( the agency.
"As a law enforcement agency, public safety is our No. 1 priority," a statement from the agency said. "Our mission is to protect and serve, especially when challenges arise like the ones we are facing today. We are deeply troubled that any inaccuracies were provided to the public based on the information given to us by one of our employees. The department is taking additional steps to ensure that this does not happen again."
The department said it is taking "appropriate disciplinary actions against this employee for providing false information."
