[The symbolic reimbursement]( — the check was actually written for $332.21 to take into account inflation — didn’t come from any of the local institutions that conspired to discriminate against folks because of the color of their skin. It came from a white lawyer in Coppell who read Washington’s story and wanted her to know somebody cared — and cared enough to take action. Greg Abbott says, declining to admit any more]( Gov. Greg Abbott on Friday said that Texas will not accept any more refugees for initial resettlement this year. Abbott said Texas bears a “disproportionate” burden from illegal immigration and must concentrate the resources it and its nonprofits have on the needy already here – “refugees, migrants and the homeless – indeed, all Texans.” Under a new Trump administration requirement, [state and local elected officials must consent in writing]( before refugees can be resttled.  Commentary: To de-escalate the situation with Iran, Congress must assert itself on foreign policy, [writes Rep. Colin Allred](.   Also: State employees can’t make payroll donations to Planned Parenthood, [Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says](.  BUSINESS [Southwest Airlines faces $3.92 million fine from FAA for miscalculating aircraft weights]( The Federal Aviation Administration says Southwest Airlines should pay a $3.92 million penalty for errors it made calculating the weight of dozens of planes in 2018. It’ll be the first Flatbread Company outside of the New England area, with the exception of two other restaurants far-flung from its home base, in Canada and Hawaii.
