Two Democrats defected. One of those is switching parties. Only one Democrat defected on obstruction, making that tally 229-198. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, a Democrat running for president, voted "present" on both counts. The process now moves to trial in the Republican-controlled Senate.
