[Dallas police arrest man in connection with slaying of Muhlaysia Booker](
Dallas police announced Wednesday that there is an arrest in connection with the death of Muhlaysia Booker.
Maj. Max Geron said at a news conference Wednesday that the man arrested after two other recent slayings drove a vehicle similar to one reportedly involved in Booker's case.

Police had said in May that the fatal shooting of Booker, 22, shared similarities with two other attacks on transgender women — an Oct. 21 slaying and an April stabbing in which the victim survived.

[FAA official: Grounded 737 Max aircraft should be flying again by December](
Boeing Co.'s 737 Max aircraft, grounded since March after two fatal crashes in five months, should be back in the air by December, a top U.S. regulator said.
It's not possible to give an exact date as work progresses on safety fixes to the aircraft, Ali Bahrami, the Federal Aviation Administration's associate administrator for aviation safety, said in an interview Wednesday at a conference in Cologne, Germany.
While the FAA is "under a lot of pressure," [he said the Max will be returned to service "when we believe it will be safe,"]( following reviews of the design, flight testing and other checks. Bahrami was reluctant to provide a timeline, but asked whether the plane would resume service this year or next, he said remarks by Boeing Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg projecting a return by the end of 2019 sounded correct.
Knowing when the latest version of the 737 will fly again would help airlines contend with the disruption caused by the grounding of the narrow-body, Boeing's most popular model. The FAA has said that there's no time frame to sign off on Boeing's proposed fix for the jet.

[McCartney's upcoming Globe Life Park show carries on Sir Paul's storied history with D-FW stadiums](
Perhaps more than just about anything else, the fact that Beatles legend Paul McCartney basically must perform in the same massive sports cathedrals that typically house NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB teams is proof he's as big of a draw as he's always been.
Judging by the capacity size of his upcoming Friday concert at Globe Life Park in Arlington, it's worth arguing he's a bigger draw than he was over 40 years ago following the demise of his first famous band.
Along with Wings, the group he shared with his wife, Linda McCartney, he made his first post-Beatles tour stop in Fort Worth of all places. On May 3, 1976, McCartney and his band earned a reported 15-minute standing ovation in the Tarrant County Convention Center, which was once the home to the Texas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association.
In the decades since, Sir Paul has performed to packed stadiums in North Texas a number of times, and [he's likely the only artist to headline his own concert in the current (and former) homes of each of our major sports teams.](

FINALLY ...
[Dallas ISD is poised to be the best urban district in the country. Can its leaders pull it off?](
From The Dallas Morning News Editorial Board:
It’s rare — particularly in urban school districts — for all the ingredients for success to emerge at the same time.
That’s precisely the encouraging position Dallas ISD finds itself in after scoring breakthroughs on many of the barriers that persistently hurt its chances to help students win.
The district is seeing remarkable growth in testing. It has more financial contributions — locally and from the state — than it has had in a while. Its keystone reforms are in place.
Now we expect this district to make good on its potential. In other words, there are no more excuses for it not to become one of the best urban school districts in the nation. We believe it has been heading in the right direction. [And it’s up to district leaders to follow all the way through.](
