Here is a look at the top headlines of the weekend so far. 🌥️ Weather: And ... the heat's here. Partly cloudy skies with a high of 90 expected on Sunday. Rain is in the forecast but not until Monday. 🔎 Prefer the online view? It's [here.]( Tristan Longnecker, now accused of sexual abuse by several of his players, coached soccer for Ursuline Academy of Dallas and the D'Feeters Soccer Club in the 1980s. (Rose Baca / Staff Photographer) SEXUAL ABUSE [The weight of a secret]( Laura Anton was an All-America soccer player for Ursuline Academy of Dallas, leading the high school to three state titles and her D’Feeters club team to the brink of a national championship. Now she wants you to know something about the man who coached both those teams. Anton, a pediatrician who lives outside of Austin, is 51. Starting when she was 13, she said, her soccer coach sexually abused her. In hotel rooms. In his condo. In his car. In the bleachers, with his hand under a blanket. [She lived for decades with the terrible weight of the secret](. And she knows it’s too late, under the law, to go to the police. But not too late for another form of justice, a chance to shift her burden to him. A chance to warn others.  And: [An Army vet]( who volunteered at Fort Worth school admitted to sexually assaulting a boy at his home, police say.   Also: The [Dallas Catholic Diocese]( calls police raid 'sensational' and 'unnecessary'.  ADVERTISEMENT OPINION [Let’s not dance around it: Dallas Mavericks troupe needed to go]( Metro columnist Sharon Grigsby writes: Just a year after Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynthia Marshall ordered up more skills and less skin from the team’s dancers, the franchise is dropping the troupe — at least in its current form — along with the ManiAACs, in favor of a more diverse, family-friendly entertainment lineup next season. At the risk of offending every high-kicking, pompom-shaking reader out there, [I couldn’t be happier to read this news](. We can all cheer about our local NBA franchise leading the too-often-stuck-in-the-'70s pro sports world into the 21st century. While Marshall ended the sex-tinged routines last season, the dancers’ between-plays performances — like those of pro football teams’ cheerleaders — are still a bit too much like that iconic Farrah Fawcett poster come to life out of a teen boy’s bedroom and into what should be a family-friendly arena.  Editorial: The Catholic Church in Dallas keeps trying to protect itself. [And that’s what will destroy it](.   Robert Wilonsky: Dallas finally looks to develop Hensley Field — [738-acres of rotten land on prime real estate](.  ADVERTISEMENT (Shaban Athuman/Staff Photographer) PHOTO OF THE WEEKEND [New line of storms blows into Dallas-Fort Worth that's already flooded]( A third line of storms packing high winds, hail and more rain blew through Tarrant County and into Dallas County on Saturday evening. Meteorologists said the latest band, which developed around 7:30 p.m. west of Fort Worth, could drop quarter-size hail and create wind gusts up to 60 mph. [Heavy rains have already flooded parts of Dallas-Fort Worth]( and knocked out power to thousands Saturday, so more rain was certain to make matters worse. AROUND THE SITE - ‘A lot of upset Texans’: How much property tax relief should you expect from the Texas Legislature? [Experts say not much](. - Watchdog: A campaign worker for Rep. Charlie Geren apologizes and admits [he was behind a political dirty trick](. - How far can it go? [Stretching classes]( are all the rage in D-FW. FINALLY... [How a Dallas serial killer suspect 'got away with it for so long,' and why that complicates cases]( Three years to the day after Payne died, Billy Chemirmir was indicted with her death and those of 10 other women 75 or older. Chemirmir, 46, had already been charged with capital murder in another elderly woman's death in March 2018, and he's accused of the attempted murder of two other women. In all, he's accused of smothering a dozen elderly women with pillows before stealing their jewelry and other valuables. He is in the Dallas County Jail in lieu of $9.1 million bail, and has a federal immigration hold because he is in the country illegally. Chemirmir's attorney, Phillip Hayes, could not be reached for comment, but he previously has said that his client maintains his innocence. [Attorneys not involved with the case say the long delay between the death of the victims and the discovery of foul play could present hurdles for prosecutors](.  👋 That's all for this morning!
