IMMIGRATION
[Why an Allen business raided by ICE may avoid severe penalties](
Nearly a month after immigration officials rounded up hundreds of employees at an Allen technology company, it's unclear whether the business will face repercussions for using an unauthorized workforce.
The nearly 300 employees arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for working illegally at CVE Technology Group remain in limbo. Legal delays and immigration court backlogs will leave many waiting months or years for a resolution.
[But experts say large loopholes in federal immigration law often allow employers to avoid prosecution](. The practice of using staffing companies as a barrier from responsibility helps keep companies from "knowingly" hiring unauthorized workers while still benefiting from their labor.

NFL DRAFT
[Cowboys have curious draft, but the organization deserves the benefit of the doubt](
The Cowboys deserve the benefit of the doubt.
A franchise that often frustrated its fan base with confounding and erratic performances during the draft has settled into a successful rhythm. Recent years have seen this organization earn respect for its execution and expertise.
Trust has replaced skepticism.
[What took place over the last three days]( shouldn't undermine this narrative. But ask yourself this: What would people be saying about the class of 2019 if this draft had taken place 10 years ago?
The Cowboys use a second-round pick on a defensive tackle who started one game in his final year of college and follow that by taking an interior offensive lineman who may not be active on game day as a rookie. A team that features the NFL's leading rusher drafts two running backs and doesn't take a safety, arguably the closest thing this team has to a need, until the next-to-last pick of the sixth round.
This isn't a draft that will be universally hailed as in previous years. Still, the club considered it successful.

FINALLY...
[This prosperity preacher makes no bones about it: Cash is king and he says he has a lot of it](
The Watchdog, Dave Lieber, writes:
On the day before Easter when Pope Francis warns us to avoid the "glitter of wealth," I walk right into the glitter.
I go see Mike Murdock, the prosperity preacher and TV evangelist with a 135,000-square-foot mega church in Haltom City.
I'm on his mailing list, and the invitation beckons me to his four-day birthday celebration.
I walk into a large ballroom where several hundred have gathered to listen to their mentor. Murdock sits in an oversized throne-like chair, center stage, near four large classic columns. His hair is dyed shoe-polish black. He wears a large gold-colored necklace. All that glitters is gold.
In his baritone voice, he's preaching on his favorite topic: money. He'd like a little of yours, if you don't mind.
How much?
[Any amount will do, but $58 a month is the ask.](
