[Boeing 737 Max 8 pilots complained to feds for months about suspected safety flaw]( Pilots repeatedly voiced safety concerns about the Boeing 737 Max 8 to federal authorities, with one captain calling the flight manual "inadequate and almost criminally insufficient" several months before Sunday's Ethiopian Air crash that killed 149 people, an investigation by The Dallas Morning News found.
[The News found at least five complaints about the Boeing model in a federal database]( where pilots can voluntarily report concerning aviation incidents without fear of repercussions.
The complaints are about the safety mechanism cited in preliminary reports for an October plane crash in Indonesia that killed 189.
The disclosures found by The News reference problems with an autopilot system during takeoff and nose-down situations while trying to gain altitude during flights of Boeing 737 Max 8s. While records show these flights occurred during October and November, information regarding which airlines the pilots were flying for at the time is redacted from the database.

[Houston Rep. Al Green will push another impeachment vote, despite Pelosi's resistance](
Rep. Al Green has already forced two votes aimed at impeaching President Donald Trump. On Tuesday, he declared that he will insist on a third such vote â despite the resistance of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi, D-Calif., told the Washington Post in an interview published Monday that impeachment would be "too divisive" and a bad idea, at least for now. [The comments angered many progressives in her caucus.](
Green wasted little time making clear that he won't back down. He didn't call out Pelosi directly, though the two of them have clashed repeatedly over the issue.
In December 2017, the House rejected his impeachment resolution on a 364-58 vote. In January 2018, it failed by a similar margin, 355-66. Those efforts went beyond citing potential ties to Russia, with Green also accusing Trump of "invidious discrimination."

[Cole Beasley moves on from Cowboys, agrees to 4-year deal with Buffalo Bills](
Cole Beasley is moving on from the Dallas Cowboys.
The 29-year-old slot receiver has agreed to a four-year, $29 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, a source told SportsDay's Jon Machota on Tuesday. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported the deal.
Beasley, [who reportedly sought $20 million in guarantees]( is getting $14.4 million guaranteed from Buffalo, according to Garafolo. The seven-year veteran and former undrafted free agent had made it known that he wants to be part of an offense where he gets more targets. After a career-best 75 catches in 2017, Beasley posted reception totals of 36 and 65 in 2017 and 2018, respectively. His 833 receiving yards in 2017 also represent a career high.
Beasley, a Little Elm native and former SMU standout, tweeted a goodbye message to the Cowboys organization and fans while expressing his excitement about joining the Bills: "Iâll always love #cowboynation and I appreciate the time we have had together. Thanks to the jones family for giving me a shot. Excited for this new journey. Canât wait to get started in Buffalo. Letâs go! #BillsMafia"

Brinston filled the "Vending Vessel" with his prints and small paintings â as well as packs of gum â and put it at a Bishop Arts clothing store.
Pleasantly surprised by the response after a few weeks, he recently moved the machine to Good Records.

[Seven years after 'we all failed' Deanna Cook, lawsuit over 911 and police response lingers](
From city columnist Robert Wilonsky:
Karletha Gundy and her mother Vicki Cook and Gundy's two daughters found 32-year-old Deanna Cook in her southeast Dallas home on Aug. 19, 2012, lying face down in a bathtub filled with water turned red from blood, wearing only underwear. Then, they saw Deanna's face -- bloated, this newspaper once wrote, and disfigured. Three years ago, before a jury was shown the crime scene photos, the judge cautioned against any "outburst" from spectators in the courtroom.
"I have to shake my head and close my eyes and push it away," Gundy said in a quiet, still voice. "It's not something I will ever get over."
Two days before her family found her, Deanna Cook was choked to death by her ex-husband, Delvecchio Patrick, as a Dallas 911 dispatcher listened and police officers took almost 50 minutes to respond. No matter how much time has passed, and I cannot believe it has already been seven years, surely you recall this horror story. Cook's killing would become a local scandal and national headline.
Patrick will remain in prison until at least August 2042. [Yet though it has faded, replaced by countless other horrible headlines, still this story has no end.](
