I get this question a lot… Well, one example is when you press the buy button on your brokerage platform at a specific price but you don’t get that price. The difference between the price you wanted and the price you got is what we call “slippage.” The amount of slippage you experience will have to do with what market you’re trading, what time of day you’re trading as well as a few other factors.
