These two indicators could be a sign To view this email as a web page, go [here.]( Hi There, Over the last week, we’ve seen the market stagnate almost entirely. Investors don’t seem certain which way they want to go with the volatility surrounding stimulus negotiations, COVID-19 responses, and, of course, the looming election. But the freeze in the major markets like the S&P 500 doesn’t mean that investors’ optimism is low. In fact, there’s a strong argument that optimism, also known as greed, is far too high: According to the CNN Business “Fear & Greed Index,” we are approaching levels of extreme greed that have resulted in a swift and powerful turnaround four other times since the start of 2018. The market can only sustain these levels of greed for so long, and we know that the fundamentals of the current economy are suspect at best. Combine that information with the reality that we are entering the seasonally weakest period of the year historically in the S&P 500, and we have a recipe for a serious bearish move. Of course, the biggest looming event that could massively shake the market is the election, which takes place on November 3. But uncertainty about that process is already fulminating. Right now, there are very few things traders can be certain about. A reversal isn’t guaranteed, but the combination of the fear & greed index soaring and the seasonal weakness overall could mean the market is overbought. That’s all the more reason to [invest in the right stocks now]( to hedge against a coming bearish move. The coming months bear a lot of uncertainty. Best to prepare now so you’ll be ready for whatever comes.
