The rhythm of the breath not only has a calming and soothing effect on us, but it also helps us to bring more prana, or life force, into our bodies, and connects us with our higher selves. This, in turn, makes it easier for us to realize that while our emotions may fluctuate, our connection with the universe remains constant.
