Eskom has accused Trillian Capital Partners of obstructing efforts to claw back unlawful payments and now wants the Gupta-linked company to put up security as it seeks to challenge a recent High Court order that it pays back public funds.

[US to resume death penalty use](
The United States Justice Department has authorised and scheduled the execution of five death row prisoners. The executions are the first such federal cases in 16 years, following long-term shortage of the drugs needed to carry out the sentence. The resumption is the result of a process initiated by President Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions to examine how to kickstart federal death penalties once more.
[Islamic State kidnap aid workers in Nigeria](
Islamic State in West Africa has claimed responsibility for kidnapping six aid workers last week, with a video released recently showing their identities. ISWA, an offshoot of Boko Haram, have been responsible for a series of attacks in recent months. The aid workers were members of the NGO Action Against Hunger.

Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac managed to evade an attempted carjacking on the streets of London. The pair were boxed in by several attackers, evidently looking to steal Ozil's black Mercedes. Both Ozil and Kolasinac managed to run away from their robbers, however, and contact authorities from a nearby restaurant.
