"When I was a child my mother said to me, 'If you become a soldier, you'll be a general. If you become a monk, you'll be the pope'. Instead I became a painter and wound up as Picasso."

[Kenneth lands in Mozambique](
Northern Mozambique has seen the start of Cyclone Kenneth with the advent of heavy rain and 280km/h winds. The cyclone hit Comoros in the evening, killing three people. After over 1,000 people died in the wake of Idai, Kenneth's swathe of destruction is, horribly, likely to cause further destruction to the region.
[Macron's big day out to save his skin](
Emmanuel Macron has promised a "New Act" that would see France embrace economic reforms while still protecting business growth. Macron utilised revolution-flavoured language, invoking the "Frenchness" of adopting change while sticking true to the country's roots. Whether the Yellow Vest movement gives two hoots about Macron's rhetoric will play out in due course.
[Refugees evacuated as Haftar nears Tripoli](
The UN has evacuated hundreds of refugees in southern Tripoli as a violent rebel force closed in. Over 350 migrants were moved as the Libyan National Army, led by rebel commander Khalifa Haftar, continued its offensive on Tripoli. Currently Haftar's forces have encountered setbacks against the Libyan military, but still remain firmly entrenched some 80km from the city.
[Rami Malek to be a Bond villain](
Oscar-winning, Queen-playing actor supreme Rami Malek has been given his new big task: Bond villain. Malek will feature in the 25th James Bond film alongside Daniel Craig. The film is due out next year and Craig has reprised his role despite saying after 2015's "Spectre" that he'd rather slash his wrists than play Bond again. Nothing like a three-year break and fewer royalties to kickstart the ambition.
