[72 hours in late March: When Eskom pushed South Africa to the edge of financial collapse](
By Marianne Merten
Beneath the electioneering bubble of sound bites and choreographed photo opportunities lies an economic governance nightmare. [Maverick Insiders Add Fuel To Our Fire](
Over the last month, Pieter-Louis Myburgh's book Gangster State has been targeted by those who want to silence him and his revelations. His book launches have been disrupted and there have been campaigns to openly burn his book. These attacks are not just on him and his investigations - they are an attack on Freedom of Speech. Without a Free Press, the foundations of our democracy will be lost. Maverick Insiders pay for our investigations. They pay for Pieter-Louis' investigations. They are the fuel to our fire in the preservation of our rights to freedom of speech. [Join Maverick Insider]( and become part of the community that is fighting back.
