[Death Squads & Covert Units: Nathi Nhlekoâs not-so-hidden hand in State Capture to be revealed](
By Marianne Thamm
A key to former president Jacob Zumaâs State Capture political project required the placing of pliant and ruthless individuals in key positions, particularly law enforcement agencies, and who were able to do Zumaâs bidding. Former IPID head, Robert McBride, was due to testify at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry in February, but his much-anticipated appearance was postponed to a later date. At least 30 high-profile officials have been named by McBride, including former minister of police Nathi Nhleko.

[Brexit stalemate stales further](
A series of motions before the House of Commons last night could have yielded some manner of decision on the Brexit deal, except that British MPs failed to reach a majority on any of them. The result was ever-fading chances that some sort of resolution on a Brexit deal, or even no Brexit at all, would materialise before the 12 April deadline. A lengthy delay or hard Brexit are now the two likeliest options.
[Facebook bans white nationalism](
Although the first question should be why Facebook hadn't already banned white nationalism, the social media giant has now done so. White nationalism posts and articles encouraging white separatism are now verboten. Whether this filters down to South Africa's own special crop of white nationalists will be entirely up to your "report post" clicks.
[Boeing claims fix was 'close]('
Despite taking weeks to release a fix for Boeing's 737 Max ant-stall software poblems, and despite two of the models crashing within months of each other, the aerospace giant has argued that it was "agonisingly close" to finding a fix. The update, which now allows pilots to "outfly" the stabiliser auto-correction, could see a halt to the haemorrhaging sales and lost revenue of airlines worldwide. Should regulators approve the fix and the 737 Max, "agonisingly close" could be changed to "just a bit late and a few hundred lives later".
[Trump demands Russia leave Venezuela](
Donald Trump has demanded that 100 Russian troops entering Caracas leave immediately. Furthermore, he added that "all options" would be considered for making that happen. The troops arrived last week in two aircraft dramatically escalating the country's deepening crisis and bolstering Nicolas Maduro's grip on power.
