Ramaphosa sends SIU after key cases, Facebook crashes worldwide, Dlamini's ANC list defence

The unit will be taking a very close look at maladministration at the National Health Laboratory Service, as well as a vehicle tender scandal within the City of Johannesburg. The latter, for example, related to an R86-million tender awarded by the ANC's Joburg administration in 2014. Herman Mashaba had since cancelled the contract after forged documentation was uncovered. [Facebook considers refunds over massive outage]( A general outage and downtime at Facebook has advertisers seething. Today the social media giant tweeted that it was investigating the outages, suggesting that a "possibility of refunds for advertisers" was on the cards. Large parts of the US, Japan, South-east Asia and South America were affected. — [Faith Mazibuko apologises to staff for rant]( Gauteng MEC for sport and recreation Faith Mazibuko has said her mea culpas after a recorded audio clip emerged in which she allegedly tried to coerce her staff. More to the point, the recordings demonstrated Mazibuko shouting at senior managers to bypass procurement processes in order to aid the ANC to "win the elections". Mazibuko apologised but denied that her instructions were unlawful. [Dlamini defends inclusion on ANC list]( ANC Women's League president and stamp-icon for incompetence Bathabile Dlamini has said today that she belongs on the ANC's election list. Talking to the SABC, Dlamini said that her inclusion was the "will of the people".
