Earlier this week Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, published the private phone number of journalist Karima Brown, and also accused her â without evidence to back this up â of being a spy working for the Department of State Security. Brown was promptly threatened with assault, rape and murder.

[Paul Manafort sentenced](
Donald Trump's close adviser Paul Manafort has been sentenced to almost four years in prison. Manafort was convicted of shovelling millions of dollars offshore to support his lavish lifestyle. Manafort will also be sentenced for up to a decade on 13 March on charges related to witness tampering on behalf of the Russians. Although Manafort was brought to justice by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, his sentencing had everything to do with Manafort being a generally greedy individual and nothing related to collusion with the Russian government.

[Spotify and Google appeal royalties increase requirements](
Spotify and Google have appealed a ruling by the courts that would require them to boost the royalties they pay songwriters. The ruling in 2018 required streaming revenue to provide 15.1% share to the artists themselves, a 4.6% increase. Spotify, Amazon, Google and Pandora argued that this would "harm" the industry. If by "industry" they mean "bottom line" for themselves, they are absolutely correct.
[Musk's security clearance on review after joint toke](
In what has to be a stunning failure of perspective, the Pentagon has revealed that it was reviewing Elon Musk's federal security clearance. The reason? Musk took a pull on one of them marijuana cigarettes the Gen Zers keeping trying to legalise on a podcast in California. As the CEO of SpaceX, Musk has said clearance due to his company's launching of military spy satellites.
