ICASA head sentenced, Eskom's cable theft problems, Nedbank Golf Challenge's big prize pot

A former ANC MP, Mohlaloga had been found, along with two co-accused, to have defrauded the Land Bank of R6-million while chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture. [Eskom reports cable theft spike]( Load shedding has had a devastating effect on the country's economy, but it has worsened Eskom's own problems: cable theft. Free of the threat of electrocution during load shedding hours, cable thieves have been working overtime to pilfer copper cables. City Power confirmed a spike in theft during load shedding hours, hours which are supplied to the public and thus the thieves themselves. — [Japan to finally recognise Ainu as indigenous people]( Millenia after conquering the Ainu's homeland in northern Hokkaido, Japan has finally introduced a bill recognising the inhabitants as an indigenous people. Descendants of the Ainu have suffered decades of discrimination in a notoriously homogenous Japanese society. This bill, one hopes, is the beginning of a different path for Japan and the Ainu. [Nedbank Golf Challenge announces top prize]( The winner of 2019's Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City will walk away with $2.5-million. The amount, announced today, is double that won by 2018's champion Lee Westwood.
