âThere is no such thing as a truly single person, only a lonely one. Humans are porous in the borders of our skins, these walking micro cities.â

Story of the Day
[Weak but Vicious â EFF Edition](
By Branko Brkic
It takes extraordinary cowardice to verbally attack female journalists just for doing their job in a society that is plagued with violence against women. That cowardice, however, is taken to a Trumpian level when the suppression of free media, racism and violence against women are wrapped in one continuous vicious attack that has just enough legal caveat â should something horrible happen to the targets of their attack â to claim innocence and throw one's own supporters under the legal bus instead.

While You Were Sleeping
[May fights mutinous cabinet](
After a miraculous securing of Britain's Brexit deal at the EU level, Prime Minister Theresa May will now face her own tumultuous cabinet before briefing Parliament. May's week from hell has seen several high-level cabinet members resign in protest over the deal, with May opting to rally public support over trying to cajole her own party members. May, clearly gatvol, has said that lawmakers can either take this deal or revert to "square one".
[California Wildfire under control](
After more than two weeks of wildfires, California's fire fighters have finally brought the numerous blazes under control. Heavy rainfall has helped quell the Camp Fire but simultaneously hindered search and rescue operations. At present over 14,000 homes have been destroyed by the wildfire.
[Russian navy fires on Ukrainian ships](
Russian naval vessels fired on three Ukrainian ships attempting to enter a disputed ocean space in the Crimea. The targeted ships were shot at in the Kerch Strait, injuring one sailor and incapacitating one of the vessels. Russian defended its hostile actions on the grounds that the Ukrainians were conducting "dangerous maneuvres".
[US]([shuts border post with Mexico over refugees](
President Donald Trump ordered the closure of a border post in Southern California on Sunday. The Tijuana-based crossing had become the target point for some of the migrant "caravans" to attempt a forceful entry into the US. Mexico itself condemned those attempting to "violently" breach the border, ordering their immediate deportation.
