[âIllegal or not, Eskom has no right to reclaim R600m from usâ â Trillianâs Eric Wood](
By Jessica Bezuidenhout
Eskomâs Dubai club of executives have joined the ranks of the unemployed, whistle-blower Suzanne Daniels has been fired and McKinsey & Co has returned nearly R1-billion it received from a tainted deal with the state-owned power utility. [White nationalists to protest at White House](
The racist chickens have come to roost, apparently. On Sunday Unite the Right, the same neo-Nazi group that held a rally where one member ploughed his car into a group of counter-protesters, will assemble at the country's capital. Another counter-protest is planned. This cannot end particularly well, no matter how much security is planned.
[Samsung unveils new model phone](
Samsung has revealed the new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in the hopes of staving off dwindling sales. Samsung was eager to produce a new model phone to escalate its battle to thwart the rise of cheaper rivals of the likes of Huawei. A better battery and larger memory are some of the new features of the Galaxy Note 9.
[New Zealand bans single-use plastics](
New Zealand has become the latest in a growing list of countries outlawing single-use, wasteful plastics. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern stated that "we need to be far smarter in the way we manage waste and this is a good start". With 10-million plastic bags being used every minute, New Zealand's ban is another step in the fight against this harmful waste.
[Woodland surges ahead as Woods levels out](
Gary Woodland has grabbed a lead at the PGA Championships, managing a five-under 65 at Bellerive Country Club. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy managed a tough-won, even 70 keeping themselves in contention while also making their subsequent rounds crucial. But hats must go off to South Africa's Brandon Stone who usurped much of the pack to secure a four-under, 66 third place; his best round of Championship golf ever.
