âOn Madibaâs 100th birthday, we now stand at a crossroads, a moment in time in which two very different visions of humanityâs future compete for the hearts and minds of citizens around the world. Two different stories, two different narratives, about who we are and who we should be.â

[Trump walks back Putin remarks](
Despite hardcore Donald Trump fans rushing to their leader's defence, the US president was having none of this. On Tuesday Trump announced that he made a mistake in asserting that Russia would not have been involved in the 2016 election meddling scandal. Rather, Trump stated that Russia absolutely would have been involved. A day late and quite literally a dollar short at this point, however.
[Blood test invented for melanoma testing](
Australian scientists might well have developed a breakthrough test for melanoma. The blood test appeared to have a high degree of success in detecting early-onset melanoma. With survival rates at 90-99% when detected early enough, to say this is a significant step forward in medical science would be an understatement.
[MGM resorts suing victims of Las Vegas shooting](
Vegas hotel bigwig MGM Resorts is taking the victims of the Vegas shooting to court. The group is seeking to have the victims' collective lawsuit against MGM dropped. A 64-year-old shooter fired an assault rifle from a Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino hotel room, killing 54 and wounding several hundred. MGM Resorts maintain their security was adequate, whereas the victims are seeking damages on the grounds that the contracted security company made no measure to account for the big concert happening within line of sight of the hotel.
[Teens on phones run higher risk of ADHD](
Researchers at the University of South Carolina have concluded that there is a modest risk in the frequency of ADHD in teens stuck to their screens. A 10% increase in signs of ADHD behaviour was linked to those who used digital devices and media frequently, versus just over 4% for those who did not.
