In a damning blow to Supra Mahumapelo, the Cabinet has decided to take all powers away from the provincial government in North West and to strip municipalities run by his allies of all powers, in a bid to âclose the tapsâ that fed his tainted politics. This explains why Mahumapelo has been falling over his feet, mobilising support all over the province since putting himself on leave in an effort to antagonise against the interventions.

[Verulam mosque scene of another attack](
The same mosque where an Imam's throat was slit last week was the scene of a bomb scare on Sunday night. Worshippers discovered a device that resembled a bomb, sparking an evacuation. SAPS bomb disposal units began removing the device, a white pipe-like tube with an old Nokia phone wired to it. One Muslim leader had explained that the mosque had been targeted amid a feud between Sunni and Shia communities.
[Indonesian police HQ targeted by bombers](
Two suicide bombers on a motorcycle blew themselves up at a police headquarters in Indonesia. The attack came less than a day after a wave of bombings by a single militant family killed at least 14 people. One policeman was killed in another attack when the attackers' motorcycle stopped at a checkpoint outside the HQ.
[Islamic State claims Paris knife attacker](
Islamic State has released a video claiming responsibility for the Paris knife attack on Saturday. One person was killed and four wounded when Khamzat Azimov, a French national of Chechen origin, mounted an attack in central Paris. Azimov was killed on the scene by French police.
[D-Day for US Jerusalem embassy move](
The United States will be moving its embassy to Jerusalem today, despite months of widespread, vocal criticism. White House and Israeli officials will gather at what will soon be the new embassy, creating one of the largest security threats for security forces on Monday.
