Manafort indicted in Russian probe

American media groups speculated that Manafort, along with business associate Rick Gates, has been indicted as part of the escalating special counsel investigation by Robert Mueller into Russia's attempts to influence the US 2016 election. [Makwakwa to make a comeback to SARS]( Suspended SARS second-in-command Jonas Makwakwa is expected to return to work this week. Makwakwa and his partner Kell-Ann Elskie were suspended in September 2016 after media reports revealed suspicious payments made into their bank accounts. — [Spain looks for rebellion charges against Catalan leaders]( Spain's head prosecutor Jose Manuel Maza has stated that they would seek charges of rebellion against Catalonia's deposed leaders. The charge carries a sentence of 30 years, and could escalate Spain's largest political crisis in decades even further. With the region already declared no longer autonomous by Madrid, some 150 ministers have been officially replaced in the attempt to absorb Catalonia's administrative authority.
