Friend, [sign the petition: Protect the abortion pill.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( There has been movement in the case that further attacks our access to reproductive health care. The Supreme Court has made a [move]( that could block debunked studies from being used as an argument against the most widely used form of abortion, mifepristone. But this fight is not over. The Trump-appointed judge who attempted to strip our personal freedoms in the first place–Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk–has [allowed]( an intervention in this case. This means that even if the Supreme Court rules in favor of abortion access this time around, the case could continue to be litigated. Enough with the attacks! Mifepristone is a safe option for reproductive health care. We will not stand for our freedoms to be stripped further! [Sign the petition: Protect our access to reproductive health care–protect mifepristone!]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Erin Tulley, Daily Kos P.S. Below is an email we sent out earlier demanding protection for and access to the abortion pill: --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign the petition: Protect the abortion pill.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The Supreme Court is taking up a new case that could even further impact our access to reproductive health care–the Court will decide if and how patients can access mifepristone, the commonly used abortion pill. They are set to hear the case in March 2024. In April 2023, in the worst federal abortion ruling since Roe was overturned, a Trump judicial appointee [revoked]( the FDA’s 23-year approval of mifepristone for the entire nation. The case has since been appealed all the way up to the Supreme Court. [Sign the petition: Protect the abortion pill.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The abortion pill, mifepristone, is the most widely used form of abortion in the U.S.-, accounting for 53% of all abortions performed. The medication is also a critical drug used in miscarriage management and other reproductive health needs. It has since been proven safe and effective–in fact, mifepristone is [safer]( than Tylenol! The upcoming Supreme Court case will be the first time the conservative-majority Court will rule on abortion since it overturned Roe. It could not only radically change access to abortion care nationwide, but it could also drastically impact the FDA’s regulatory authority. If the Supreme Court overturns the FDA’s approval, it would impact patients across the country, regardless of whether abortion remains legal in their state.
